Harvey disowns Aaron

The rumour mill in Walford is in overdrive, and Harvey is forced to tell the truth to the residents: Aaron was involved in a foiled bomb plot on New Year’s Eve. Naturally, this makes fun of Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) proposing to Dana Monroe (Barbara Smith), as Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) interrupts her grandson’s proposal and tells him to stay away from the Monroe gang.

Harvey visits his extremist son in prison, stung by the scandal, and declares that he can’t get over what he’s done, and that he will never see him again. Back in the Square, Harvey realizes that his reputation has been tainted by his children’s behavior and considers leaving. Will the locals hold him responsible for his son’s misdeeds? Is Harvey really willing to abandon Aaron?

Callum gives Ben an ultimatum

Ben has returned to the closet after the homophobic attack, and he has shut the door tightly behind him. Callum is heartbroken to see him at such a low point, and he confides in his mother-in-law Kaff about his harassed husband pushing him away so they don’t become a target for the haters.

Callum tells Ben that he’s throwing a party outside the Prince Albert to show that the LGBT community will not be silenced by bigots, and he tells Mr Mitchell that if he thinks their relationship has a future, he should be there in an hour. Cal’s impromptu party gets out of hand, and he’s arrested when the cops arrive, but has he jeopardized his marriage and his freedom by standing up for what he believes in?

Phil turns to Sharon

With Ben in shambles, Phil turns to an old flame, Sharon, and asks her to take over the Mitchell empire if he spends the rest of his life in prison. Shaz is taken aback when she learns why her ex isn’t leaving Ben in charge, and she learns about his recent struggles. Can she use some wise words to reach out to her former step-son?

Meanwhile, Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) informs Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) that Phil could face a lengthy prison sentence, which the lad does not take well – mainly because he will no longer have the hardest man in East London to defend him against playground bullies…

Kheerat pleads with Chelsea

Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) tightens his grip on Chelsea as she insists on making baby Jordan her top priority, even refusing to let Denise Fox (Diane Parish) see him when she inquires about her grandchild. Dee, an abuse survivor, doesn’t recognize the warning signs that her daughter is in danger?!

Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol) refuses to abandon Chelsea and devises a plan to see her while delivering paperwork to Gray at the hospital. Can Kheerat persuade Chels to let him and Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) help after she shut them out in a few moments alone with her? And what makes Chelsea uneasy when she sees something from the past?

Elsewhere on EastEnders

Because of the increased police presence at the Prince Albert party, any public brawl will draw the attention of the cops. Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) accuses Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) of turning her daughter against her, and the menacing matriarch accuses the bolshy brunette of turning her daughter against her. The ladies’ argument turns physical, and they’re thrown into a police van! Have some respect…

The sound of a loud bang shakes the revelers in the aftermath of the Prince Albert incident. Everyone is on high alert after the recent deliberate attempt at an attack, but it turns out to be a gas explosion at the derelict Argee Bhajee, kicking off a surprising development that you won’t see coming…
