Actor Luke Arnold reveals why working with co-star Sam Frost is ‘dangerous’

He’s best known for his appearance in the US Black Sails series as a swashbuckling pirate.

But Luke Arnold, an Australian-born actor, recently came home to film a guest role on Channel Seven’s Home and Away.

And the hunky 36-year-old told Daily Mail Australia earlier this month at the AACTA Awards that he enjoys playing the mysterious new nurse, Lewis Hayes, on the iconic soap every minute.

‘It’s such an Australian TV staple, and everybody’s so sweet, and it’s such a well-honed machine, so I had a great time,’ he said.

‘This was a very fun gig and it feels like going home is the right gig to do.’

Moreover, the long-running soap is expected to see the character of Luke enjoy a sizzling Jasmine romance (Sam Frost).

Luke also acknowledges that sharing scenes with Sam made it a ‘joy’ to come to work, but they have so much fun that sometimes it can ‘be’ risky ‘.

Sam is just the loveliest one. The most risky thing about working with Sam is that she’s so bubbly and entertaining, that you’re having such a great time, that they’re going to call it “action,” he joked.

‘But working with her has been fantastic and it makes work a pleasure.’

Luke became a household name in 2014 after he took on the role of rock legend Michael Hutchence in the hit INXS: Never Break Us Apart mini series.

Since then, in the Emmy winning series Black Sails, he has gone on to play one-legged pirate John Silver, most recently starring in the TV series The End.

Luke is also an experienced author who has published two fantasy novels in Sunder City: The Last Smile and Dead Man in a Ditch.
