Adam Woodyatt ‘in talks’ to return to BBC EastEnders

Adam Woodyatt, a former EastEnders actor and I’m A Celebrity judge, is reportedly ‘in talks to return to the hit BBC soap. Since the show’s inception in 1985, the actor from Southam, Warwickshire, has played Ian Beale on the long-running soap.

In 2021, Adam took a long break from the soap. However, he is reportedly in talks to return for a large sum of money, as the soap seeks to bolster its cast following the announcement that Danny Dyer will depart this year.

According to The Sun, he is being enticed back with a deal worth up to £300,000.
“Adam was one of the highest earners in EastEnders and there’s no doubt he’d be looking to come back on at least the same amount of money, if not more,” a source told the publication. They’re desperate to get him back after the devastating loss of Danny.

“It’s thought that if he signs it now, he’ll have to pay Bev more in their divorce settlement.” The bosses at EastEnders, on the other hand, clearly need to know what’s going on.”

“Any contract talks are pure speculation,” the BBC said. Adam previously stated to the Mirror that he had no plans to return.

“They have to come up with a storyline, and they have to ask me to come back,” he said. I need the timing to be right for me to return because I’m not sure what else I’ll be doing.”
Adam is currently performing in the stage play Looking Good Dead, which is touring the country.
