‘Are they serious?’ Emmerdale fans slam soap over police blunder in Meena twist

EMMERDALE watchers witnessed the killer Meena Jutla flee the hamlet this week, escaping retribution. On Friday night, though, some viewers noticed a plot flaw.

Emmerdale viewers were eager to see Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) face punishment this week after she came dangerously close to being caught. The serial killer, on the other hand, managed to elude the cops and abandon the hamlet. The police began investigating the recent startling happenings in the community on Friday night’s episode of the soap. Fans, on the other hand, promptly turned to Twitter after identifying a storyline flaw.

Meena’s reign of terror came to an end this week when Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) discovered her.

Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) were saved from her clutches barely in time.
Meena had tied the two together in a barn before filling it with exhaust fumes and abandoning them.

Liam was able to stop her, but when Manpreet and Vinny revealed the whole nature of Meena’s misdeeds, he was shocked.

Regular Emmerdale watchers will recall the evil nurse who murdered Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale), Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon), and Liam’s daughter Leanna Cavanagh in the past (Mimi Slinger).

Manpreet told Liam that she had gotten a confession from her sister.

Unfortunately, according to the investigator in charge of the investigation into Vinny and Manpreet’s deaths and kidnapping, none of this was sufficient evidence.

Vinny was determined to tell the police everything as he recovered in the hopes of getting Liv Flaherty out of prison (Isobel Steele).

Despite the fact that Meena was the real murderer, Liv was imprisoned for killing Ben.

He was shocked, however, when the detective told him that his words were insufficient because Meena had not truly confessed to him.

Manpreet was unable to corroborate Vinny’s account of events since she was still in a coma after being hit by a car.

The officer said that they didn’t have enough evidence to liberate Liv or proof that Meena killed Ben unless Manpreet awoke and confirmed Meena’s exact confession.

The police officer’s conclusion enraged Emmerdale viewers, with many pointing out that it was a gaffe that contradicted a previous plotline.

Meena’s comments regarding Kim Tate (Claire King) led to the business owner’s arrest for Andrea’s murder last year, while Liv was also detained and prosecuted despite the lack of solid evidence or confession.

Several serial viewers took to Twitter to express their displeasure with the plot hole.

“Are the cops telling the truth?” Meena just kidnapped Vinny and Manpreet, and the cops still don’t believe she killed Ben! @Cirah TV fumed, “The cops in that place are truly incompetent #Emmerdale.”

“#Emmerdale,” @suzysasha added. How much evidence does Emmerdale’s thick police force require? If they execute their job effectively, it will be there.”

“The police arrested Kim for Andrea’s murder based purely on Meena’s hearsay, and now they need hard proof to pursue Meena #Emmerdale,” tweeted @JamieNews81.

“Kim was arrested for Andrea’s murder based purely on Meena’s statement and the fact that she’d had a minor squabble with her the day before, however Vinny’s statement isn’t enough for the cops to wonder if she could be guilty of murder, really?” @GrianneDoherty1 enquired about #Emmerdale.

“#emmerdale this police officer with Vinny, talking about evidence, there was no evidence when they arrested Liv. Talk about double standards,” @FLady1980 commented.

Meanwhile, some viewers didn’t appear to notice the plot’s contradictions and seemed to enjoy the drama as it unfolded.

“I just watched last night’s #Emmerdale. The Meena storyline is ridiculous in the extreme, but I love it! The most entertaining thing in soap right now,” @hannahforest said.
