Jessie Wallace is best known for her role as Kat Slater on the British soap opera EastEnders. She’s played the role on and off since 2000, with the most recent recurrence in 2018.
Kat has had her fair share of men since her marriage to Alfie ended, and Jessie’s life off screen is no less colorful. The EastEnders actress has had her fair share of shady relationships.
Jessie was dating Majorca-based Paul Whitworth when she was first cast on the show. In 2001, the Sunday Mirror described the ex-criminal as a “handsome millionaire” and a “international man of mystery.”
But the relationship didn’t work out, and the two broke up soon after she became famous. While some speculated that BBC bosses were to blame, others blamed the distance, according to Emily Herbert’s biography, Jessie said at the time, “We split up because it just wasn’t working out.”
She had a brief affair with Andy Burton, who was six years her junior, shortly after her divorce from Paul. According to the Daily Mail, the relationship ended and Andy sold the story of their relationship to the media.
Following that, the actress began dating police officer Dave Morgan, whom she met after being arrested for drunk driving. They lived together for a while and even had a daughter together, but they divorced shortly after she was born.
When Jessie called off the wedding, she met catering boss Vince Morse, and the two planned to marry. Vincent had been unfaithful to Jessie, according to the Daily Mail, and had sent unflattering photos of her to his ex. Jessie was rumored to have planned to abandon him at the altar, but changed her mind at the last minute. At the time, a source told the Daily Mail: “She was adamant about doing it so that everyone would know how she felt about him. But as the date approached, she became too upset and decided it was best to cancel the entire event.”
Jessie broke up with musician boyfriend Tim Arnold, whom she had been dating for four years, in 2016. They called it quits because Tim was “tired of the spotlight,” according to reports. Paul Kempin, a father of five, was Jessie’s most recent boyfriend, but the two broke up after two years together.
