Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden reunite with Emmerdale co-stars amid backstage ‘row’

EMMERDALE’S Following an alleged behind-the-scenes brawl, Matthew Wolfenden and Charley Webb celebrated New Year’s Eve with several of their castmates.

Charley Webb and Matthew Wolfenden of Emmerdale reunited with some of their co-stars to ring in the New Year. Emma Atkins, who plays Charity Dingle, Jeff Hordley, his wife Zoe Henry, who plays Rhona, and Chas actress Lucy Pargeter joined the couple, who married in 2018.

As they rang in 2022, Charley, who portrayed Debbie Dingle in the popular drama for over 20 years, released a series of photos with her on-screen family.

She beamed as she posed on a sofa with her castmates, beverages in hand, in front of her 548,000 Instagram followers.

She also posted a selfie with her on-screen mother Emma, who was dressed to the nines in a black lace gown.

She wrote: “My New Year’s Eve crew. Best night with some of my favouritests.”(sic)

  • Emmerdale Richard Thorp’s death – grave premonition, poignant final call and £300k gift
  • Charley, who has played Debbie since she was a teenager, was rumored to be leaving the show last month.

“Charley is leaving Emmerdale for good and won’t be returning,” a source told The Sun.

“She’s had time to think about the future over the last six months, and it’s not one that involves Emmerdale.”

“Charley has been a part of Emmerdale for 19 years, and her character Debbie has been through a lot. Charley is ready for a new adventure.

“Naturally, her character, who is now residing in Scotland, has the option to change her mind. But for the time being, she is focused on the future.”

“Being caught up in the dispute on-set spurred her resolve to step away,” the person continued.

The actor and co-star Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria Sugden, was accused of a “racial row” in November.

An improper remark was made about a mixed-race actress, and her accent was imitated, according to reports.

As a result, while investigations are ongoing, Matthew and Isabel, who both reject the claims, have been temporarily written off the show.

The show’s creators quickly devised a plot in which the on-screen couple leaves the village for a vacation.

Despite the fact that the actors have yet to return to the Dales, Emmerdale executives have stated that neither actor has been suspended.

Charley and her husband Matthew have three children: Ace, who is two years old, Bowie, who is five, and Buster, who is eleven.

Over the Christmas season, they shared a number of lovely updates with followers, including a montage of the kids enjoying the festivities.

“Christmas 2021,” she wrote in the caption. Thank you so much for everything you’ve done this year; you’re my favorite Instagram team. I enjoy sharing stuff with you and having small talk with you.

“I hope you all had the loveliest day and I’m thinking of everyone that may have had a harder day yesterday. Love you all lots.”
