Charley Webb left feeling ‘drained’ as she details home life struggle after Emmerdale exit

CHARLEY WEBB has admitted to feeling “tired” over the holidays, as she opened up about her life since leaving Emmerdale, where she and husband Matthew Wolfenden both work.

Charley Webb, 33, of Debbie Dingle fame, has admitted she is totally exhausted following a hectic period at home with husband Matthew Wolfenden, 41, and their three children, Ace, two, Bowie, five, and Buster, eleven. After 19 years on Emmerdale, in which she co-starred with Matthew, who portrays David Metcalfe, the soap star’s admission comes after she decided to quit the show.

The mother-of-three took to Instagram to provide a glimpse into her private life, asking her 548,000 followers if they were “tired from the holidays.”

“I am SO drained,” Charley said after uploading a poll on the matter to her Instagram Stories.

“Ace is sleeping, Buster is on his computer and Bowie has gone to the shops with M.

“I might actually have a nap which is absolutely unheard of.

“Tired from having the loveliest time with the family so I can’t complain,” the soap star added.

Charley last appeared on screen in Emmerdale at the start of 2021, and according to an inside source, she has no intentions to return.

It comes after her husband Matthew was allegedly embroiled in a race brawl on set with his co-star Isabel Hodgins. Matthew has categorically disputed the allegations.

Matthew and Isobel, who play David and Victoria Sugden on the drama, haven’t been seen since October 28.

  • The two took a break from filming scenes while their managers investigated the situation.

The co-stars are unlikely to return until 2022, according to a spokeswoman, but neither performer has been suspended.

They said: “While we would never comment on individual cases, Emmerdale has robust policies in place to deal with any allegations that are brought to our attention and take the appropriate steps.

“Neither actor has been suspended from Emmerdale.”

Both Matthew and Isobel have denied any misconduct on their part.

  • “Charley is closing the door on Emmerdale for good and won’t be going back,” the source said of Charley’s Emmerdale future.

“After she gave birth to her third child with Matthew in 2019 she returned briefly before taking some time out again.

“The past few months have given her time to think about the future and it is one that doesn’t involve Emmerdale.”

“There are no present plans for Debbie Dingle to return,” an Emmerdale spokeswoman informed the publication.

Debbie, Charley’s character on Emmerdale, was caught up in a cheating scandal during her previous appearance earlier this year.
Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) had been having affairs behind the backs of his fiancée Priya (Fiona Wade) with a mystery woman, who turned out to be Debbie.

Debbie and Al met in Scotland after she moved away from the Dales to open her own garage.

During an explosive episode that aired back in January, Al was shown attempting to keep Debbie and Priya apart in order to cover up his falsehoods.
