“Coronation Street: Amy Barlow Set to Turn Against Rowan Cunliffe”

Next week, Amy Barlow of Coronation Street will become the newest foe of The Institute.

When Amy first discovers proof of the eerie cult’s actions, she begins to battle against them.

Amy will reevaluate her recent choice to forgo funding The Institute’s resource center in upcoming episodes.

Amy also attends an “upload session” with Institute leader Rowan Cunliffe. However, as Amy shares various pieces of personal information, Leanne Battersby is shocked to realise that Rowan is recording her.

With Amy won over by Rowan at first, she decides to speak to her grandfather Ken about releasing her inheritance money so that she can invest in The Institute.

Ken disapproves over Amy’s choice, but she’s sure to stand her ground.

Later in the week, Amy reaches her next Institute milestone as she attends her “malware session”.

Amy is blindfolded by Rowan, before the members bombard her with cruel insults.

Leanne, who went through this initiation herself a few weeks ago, promises Amy that the distressing experience will be worth it. However, it all gets too much for Amy and she rushes out.

Amy shares her ordeal with her mum Tracy, who teams up with Nick Tilsley to confront Rowan.

Tracy then vows to take the damning story to the Weatherfield Gazette, determined to bring down The Institute once and for all.

Rowan calls on Leanne for support as things get heated, reminding her that she’s now senior management and her loyalties should lie with The Institute rather than Amy.

Leanne is torn – what will she decide to do?

Coronation Street airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, August 26.
