“Coronation Street Fan-Favorite in Peril as Institute Session Takes a Dark Turn”

Next week, a devious Rowan’s scheme to take money from a Weatherfield resident goes horribly wrong as Coronation Street’s Leanne Battersby grows increasingly involved with The Institute.

Rowan Cunliffe (played by Emrhys Cooper) is set to ramp up his determination to get his hand on more cash in next week’s Coronation Street, and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) is his target. Fans of the ITV soap have witnessed Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) become obsessed with The Institute believing the ‘cult’ has drastically improved her well-being.

But in reality, the self-improvement group has drawn a wedge between her family and revealed leader Rowan to be a criminal.

Amy has already considered investing in The Institute using the money she inherited from her nan Deidre Barlow (Anne Kirkbride).

Luckily, her pal Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) convinced her not to risk all her savings and to ask Rowan further questions about how she would get her money back, and the profit.

He warned her not to trust him, but Amy insisted she could trust Leanne. However, in forthcoming scenes, Rowan shows no signs of giving up on taking Amy’s money.

Next week, Leanne seeks out Rowan who explains that Amy is doing an ‘upload’ and is also reconsidering investing in the resource centre.

Rowan urges Leanne to encourage her partner Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) to do the same.

During Amy’s upload session, Leanne urges her to relive her trauma in order to banish the negativity, but as Amy unburdens herself, Leanne’s shocked to realise Rowan is recording her.

Amy reveals she’s going to speak to Ken Barlow (William Roache) about releasing her inheritance to invest, but Ken is not keen on the idea.

Later in the week, The Institute takes things too far with Amy, which sparks fury in her fiery mum Tracy McDonald (Kate Ford).

The drama kicks off when Leanne insists Amy is ready for her malware session. While Amy is blindfolded, she is horrified as the members bombard her with insults.

Leanne assures her it’ll be worth it in the end but Amy becomes too distressed and runs out.

Tracy and Nick confront Rowan at the Chariot Square Hotel, determined to unmask him.

Tracy spells out that they’re taking their story to the Gazette and expose his cult.

Urging Leanne to persuade Amy to call off her attack, Rowan points out that now she’s senior management, her loyalty to the Institute takes precedence over any relationship she has with Amy leaving her torn. Will Rowan be exposed?

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV1 and ITVX.
