Coronation Street fans concerned as beloved character ‘goes missing’

The keen-eyed viewers of Coronation Street like to know what’s happening to every character.

Since Jude Riordan’s character Sam Blakeman hasn’t been seen on the ITV soap opera in a long, fans of Coronation Street have been wondering where he’s gone. The schoolboy is Nick Tilsley’s (Ben Price) perceptive son.

But lately, he doesn’t seem to be at Weatherfield. After “dating” cobbles troublemaker Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan), he finds himself in a bit of a love triangle, but he still maintains a close friendship with Eliza Woodrow (Savannah Kunyo).

He enjoys playing chess with Weatherfield mainstay Roy Cropper (David Neilson), with whom he is also close. He has, nevertheless, also contributed to a few intense plots.

Young Sam lost his mother, Natasha Blakeman (Rachel Leskovac), in 2021 when Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) killed her in an identity theft.

In addition, he played a significant role in Harvey’s sporadic release from prison and his quest to learn more about the man who killed his mother. Reluctantly, his father Nick went with him to see Harvey in jail.

Some fans questioned why Sam hadn’t been active on Reddit for a while.

“Where is Sam?” LymeRegis inquired. For quite some time now, Sam has been absent from any compelling narrative.

“I hope they are not writing him out – I like his precociousness but I think it was a mistake to involving him with Hope, of all people.”

“He was on over Christmas, bing the Platt family in the Bistro for constantly sniping at each other,” Mike13RW replied in response. Still, I think that the more Sam, the better.”

“Where is half the cast?” would be a better question, joked Kahlua1965.

In response, KWatermelon mentioned actor Jude’s part in the Sky comedy, saying, “[He’s] on Brassic.”

Viewers on Twitter had the same question.

“#Corrie How is Sam doing?,” @perfwithsurf enquired.

Is it correct for some fans to believe that Sam will soon be leaving the cobbles, or will he return to television screens soon?
