When it was revealed that a cobbles favorite has an actual identical twin who has even made an appearance on the ITV soap opera, Coronation Street audiences were taken aback.
When fans of Coronation Street learned that a well-liked actor had an identical twin, they were astounded. Dylan Wilson, the son of legendary soap opera star Sean Tully (Antony Cotton), is the most well-known role played by actor Liam McCheyne. Dylan was a temporary resident of the cobbles when he first arrived in 2011.
Before making his permanent return to Weatherfield in 2022, he spent ten years living away from the town with his mother Violet (Jenny Platt). And ever since, his stay on the well-known street has been somewhat dramatic and turbulent.
Fans will recall he has been a part of the heartbreaking bullying storyline that saw Mason Radcliffe (Luca Toolan) make Liam Connor’s (Charlie Wrenshall) life hell.
However, it’s actor Liam’s life away from the cobbles that has got fans talking. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, fans shared their shock over Liam having an identical twin. One person proclaimed: “I had no idea Liam was a twin.”
Someone else replied: “Wait what?!” A third chimed in and penned: “I didn’t know either just read up on it.” Another said: “Never knew they were twins!”
Liam and Connor turned 17 in January and Liam issued a heartfelt tribute to his brother to mark the special day.
He wrote on social media: “17 years of sharing a birthday with @connormccheyne never a day where we’re not laughing.
“Both have different ideas and pathways, but we have the same person to always trust. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Another chapter is going to be written. Chapter 17! Here’s to another amazing year.”
