Kit Green from Coronation Streer has been acting strangely for months, and next week Beth Tinker uncovers the corrupt copper.
In forthcoming scenes of the ITV soap opera Coronation Street, Kit Green gives Beth Tinker (Lisa George) an ultimatum: she is to leave Weatherfield permanently.
The corrupt copper (Jacob Roberts) first rocked up to the cobbles earlier this year as the long-lost son of Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) after it was revealed that the Rovers regular gave up Christopher ‘Kit’ Green for adoption almost 30 years ago.
Bernie eventually tracked her son down a few months ago – but he didn’t want anything to do with her. Bernie’s twins Gemma Winter-Brown (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) were left floored to find out they had another brother.
In recent scenes, PC Kit played a part in Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper) getting sent to prison for the murder of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) earlier this year. As fans will recall, the troubled youngster went missing earlier this year – but is actually alive.
However, in a shock twist, Kit planted Lauren’s DNA in paedophile Nathan’s van and framed him. In reality, viewers learned the truth about Lauren’s disappearance: she was actually attacked by solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill).
Since then, Kit has become a regular on the cobbles – with fellow copper Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) taking a shine to Kit. However, it has been made clear that Kit isn’t as fond of Craig.
Next week, Beth’s fuming to discover Sid is selling their knock-off t-shirts in the precinct and keeping all the profits for himself. As Beth watches him she’s taken aback when Kit arrives.
Handing her some cash, Kit tells Beth he wants her out of Weatherfield by the end of the week or he’ll end Craig’s career.
Kirk Sutherland (Andy Whyment) admits to Beth he can’t live without her and reveals Peanut wearing a neckerchief saying ‘Marry me?’
With Kit’s blackmail ringing in her ear, will she agree? Craig quizzes Sid about his dealings with Beth. Sid feigns ignorance but once Craig is out of earshot, he calls Kit to warn him. Will Beth leave the cobbles to save her son’s job?
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
