Georgia May Foote, an actress on Coronation Street, talked about leaving the show after her character was declared dead.
Even though her character is no longer on Coronation Street, Georgia May Foote has hinted that she hasn’t ruled out making a comeback to the soap opera.
On Monday night, the actress engaged in a direct question-and-answer session with her 528,000 Instagram followers.
The 32-year-old Strictly Come Dancing finalist made her on-screen debut as Katy Armstrong in 2010. It was there that she quickly struck up a romantic relationship with Sam Aston’s character, Chesney Brown, and the two eventually welcomed a son, Joseph.
Katy died in an automobile accident in 2017 off-screen, following her departure from the show in 2015.
When a fan inquired as to whether Georgia was “disappointed” that her character on the ITV soap opera had died, Georgia responded.
She answered, “I wouldn’t say disappointed at all.”
“I’m one of those people who is eager to move on to the next adventure after leaving a job. I learned so much from Corrie over the course of nearly five years, and I will always be appreciative of the show.”
“If I could have gone back, would I have?” she asked. I will never know, so I am unable to respond to that. However, the time I spent there was unique in my life, and I will always be appreciative that I was able to play not one, but two roles in the production. It is recognizable.”
Her remarks come months after the soap opera star disclosed that she had left the small screen to pursue a career in the beauty industry and started her own company, GMF Nails.
Georgia first obtained her nail technician certification in 2021. Based on her social media accounts, she is still acting and frequently does voiceover work.
In June of last year, she and her spouse Kris Evans exchanged vows.
At the wedding, the couple—who had been courting for almost two years—was flanked by their closest friends and relatives.
Georgia’s most well-known role was as Katy on Corrie from 2010 to 2015.
She joined the Strictly cast shortly after leaving the soap opera and finished second.
She has since made appearances on a number of other programs, including Trollied, Doctors, and We Are Not Alone.
