‘Coronation Street’ stars reveal all on Fiz and Tyrone’s shock Christmas kiss

Coronation Street’s Tyrone will make a move on his ex-partner – could there be a reunion on the cards?

Fiz Stape and Tyrone Dobbs from Coronation Street are unlikely to forget 2021. Tyrone stunned his spouse by walking out on her and his daughters Hope and Ruby in April for twenty-something beautician Alina Pop.

Ty and Alina’s relationship has since ended, and the mechanic has realized that number nine is where his heart resides. Fiz, on the other hand, has moved on and is now dating Phill.

Can Tyrone persuade her that they belong together as Christmas approaches? Is a holiday reunion a request that Santa just can’t grant?

Corrie stars Alan Halsall and Jennie McAlpine reveal all…

How would you sum up 2021 for Fiz and Tyrone, and where are their heads at this Christmas?

Jennie: Their breakup came as a complete surprise to her since she had assumed everything was OK. She’s kept going, but given Hope’s behavior, I don’t think Fiz thinks she’s done a particularly good job, and she’s had a lot of support from Evelyn.

She’s in a nice place this time of year. She didn’t intend for this, but she’s trying to make the best of it. She has Phill – and his not-so-nice mother – and is attempting to co-parent with Tyrone. Although it is not what she had hoped for, she has learned that “I’m okay, I can do this.”

Tyrone felt he was making all the right decisions, but he was actually making all the wrong ones. He believed the grass was greener, but it wasn’t, and he kept making mistakes. Tyrone has learned a valuable lesson this year.

His situation is the polar opposite of Fiz’s at Christmas. Tyrone’s world has been thrown into disarray as he realizes what he wants and what he had. All he wants is to be a full-time part of Fiz and the daughters’ lives once more. He sees them frequently and visits them at their home, which is close but far away.

Is Tyrone still in love with Fiz?

Alan: I believe so. I’m not trying to excuse him, but people can become complacent with their life partner, and then something happens that makes them believe, “That’s what I’m missing in my life.” When that core item is removed, people realize that is the most important thing in their lives. Tyrone isn’t the most razor-sharp blade in the drawer. He imagined how life could be better and more enjoyable, only to realize that those aren’t the things he desires.

And is Fiz still in love with Tyrone?

Jennie: I believe she is. She was completely content and had all she want at this time last year. When Tyrone indicated he didn’t want that, it hit her like a ten-tonne truck, so she’s attempting to start over. But if she had a magic wand and could travel back in time to last Christmas, she would. She does want him back, but not in his current form. She wants the Tyrone she had before everything happened with Alina.

There’s Phill in the mix now. What are Fiz’s feelings for him?

Jennie: He’s steady, he appears to be an adult, and he doesn’t have any ties. He is courteous and kind to her. Perhaps she went into the relationship with her intellect rather than her heart, which is why the kinks crop up when it comes to his mother.

Fiz and Tyrone end up spending Christmas Day together – how come?

Fiz, Phill, and the girls were supposed to go away to a log cabin, but the girls tell Fiz, “We’d rather be here, with all of you.” So, on Christmas morning, when Tyrone and Evelyn assume they’ll be alone, she shows up and says, “Surprise!”

Tyrone reads a little more into it at first because he sees Fiz and the girls and thinks to himself, “This is the Christmas I wanted,” but then Phill shows up, and that’s a small sticking point – well, a six-foot, four-inch sticking point!

We hear Tyrone ends up kissing Fiz…

Yes, Alan believes there is a moment,’ so why not take a chance? But, since it’s Corrie, things might not go as planned! If he could have one wish for Christmas, it would be to travel back in time to Christmas 2020 and continue knowing what he knows and being the family man he desires.

It’s six years since Tyrone proposed to Fiz at the cobbles’  ‘Lapland.’ Did you ever imagine then that they would end up going their separate ways?

Jennie: Oh, my goodness, I never anticipated they’d break up back then. Fiz’s dream had come true, and I believe it was the same for both of them. She had a difficult time growing up with a bad mother and caring for Chesney. Even with the addition of Nana, the family unit they had was ideal for Fiz.

Alan: Isn’t that the allure of soap operas? It always slaps you in the face, even if you don’t see it coming. I can’t believe it’s been six years. You never know, maybe we’ll make it there for Christmas next year!

If Fiz and Tyrone don’t reunite this Christmas, what do you think the odds are of it happening next year?

Jennie: Anything may happen, but I’m not sure I’d bet my house on it. I’d probably put a fiver on each way!

Alan: That’s exactly what Tyrone wants, but it’s all up to the writers. Fiz and Tyrone have a lot in common in terms of their childhoods and their desire to start a family, and there’s a lot of history between them. Fiz was there for Tyrone when Kirsty died, and Tyrone is there for Fiz when Phill’s mother Mimi is cruel to her. The nice thing about Coronation Street is that we can go back in time. Who knows if we’ll be able to make more history in the future.
