Fans of Coronation Street believe that a character might be the focus of a grooming storyline after the star’s departure from the soap opera was announced.
After learning that a character is leaving the renowned soap opera, viewers of Coronation Street are speculating that they might be involved in an unexpected grooming plot.
Just one year after making her television debut, Sabrina’s actress Luana Santos announced this week that she is leaving the series.
Sabrina was introduced as Max Turner’s (played by Paddy Bever) girlfriend, whom she met while he was doing community service for his involvement with a far-right extremist group, something she was unaware of at the time.
She has been at the centre of several major storylines, including the sudden disappearance of Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton).
On Tuesday (August 20), Luana confirmed that she has wrapped up filming her final scenes and is officially leaving the soap.
With her departure looming, fans have started to speculate about what might happen to her character – and it doesn’t look good for the young woman.
Earlier this year, Sabrina had a run-in with the creepy solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill), who was behind Lauren’s disappearance.
Joel, a groomer and abuser, got Sabrina drunk in the park, only to be found out by her friend Betsy (Sydney Martin), who has since been blackmailing Joel.
Corrie viewers took to a Facebook fan page to speculate on Luana’s dramatic exit storyline. One wrote: “I’m wondering if Sabrina is going to be groomed and disappear and that will be her exit story.”
Another chimed in with, “I feel like she could get killed off.”
And a third added their thoughts, saying: “Remember how Joel tried to chat her up, who knows what he could do next.”
