On UK television next week, Dev Alahan will have a surprising new love interest on Coronation Street.
Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) appears to be growing close to none other than Bernie Winter, which will catch several Weatherfield residents off guard, including Dev’s children, off guard (Jane Hazlegrove).
Dev struggles to cope in upcoming scenes on ITV as Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) continues to fake her injury at the cafe after a recent fall at the Corner Shop.
Dev eventually asks Bernie to assist Evelyn with some errands in the hopes of avoiding a lawsuit.
Bernie, on the other hand, has other ideas, telling Dev that she has a master plan.
Her plan entails exposing Evelyn’s con, and she succeeds after dropping Evelyn’s dog Cerberus off at her house and bribing him with a doggy treat.
As a reward for forcing Evelyn to return to work, Bernie wants Dev to buy her a drink.
Later, Aadi (Adam Hussain) teases Dev about his lack of romantic life.
Bernie has Dev’s back, posing as if the two are going out for brunch. The two fake their brunch date, but when Dev invites Bernie back to Number 7, things start to get heated.
They go above and beyond with the ruse, prompting Dev to tell Bernie that nothing like this will ever happen again.
Bernie is irritated and tells him not to flatter himself.
The prospect of a possible relationship between their father and Bernie astounds Asha (Tanisha Gorey) and Aadi, while Mary Taylor (Patti Clare) is unimpressed with Bernie, believing she exploited Dev.
When Mary overhears Dev laughing about what happened with Bernie to Steve McDonald, she becomes uneasy (Simon Gregson).
He claims he only had sexual relations with Bernie because he was inebriated. Is this, however, the case?
