EastEnders’ Adam Woodyatt non-committal over return as Ian Beale

While on I’m a Celebrity, Adam Woodyatt made some extremely fascinating comments concerning his EastEnders future.

Because EastEnders has given him a lengthy break from his role as Ian Beale since early in 2021, the actor has been permitted to enter the I’m a Celebrity castle.

Adam left the Square to take a main role in the play Looking Good Dead, which will run until April next year, thereby extending Ian’s departure from Walford.

Adam discussed how the aftermath from Ian’s breakup from Sharon Watts earlier this year forced him to take a lengthier hiatus on Tuesday’s (November 30) episode of the ITV reality show.

“I just had another opportunity. This play came up,” he said. “I just fancied doing something different. The way the storyline is, they needed me to take a break. Yeah.. the break’s just got longer.”

However, Adam also stated that when Looking Good Dead wraps next spring, he does not intend to return to EastEnders.

Adam responded, “I’m available as of April,” when fellow camper Kadeena questioned if he’d ever consider abandoning soaps for the movies.

When asked if Adam Woodyatt expects to return as Ian next year, an EastEnders official recently refused to confirm to Digital Spy on his situation with the serial.

Ian was last seen on the soap in January, when his then-wife Sharon attempted to poison him after learning that he was to blame for her son Dennis Rickman died in the boat catastrophe a year before.

When Sharon expressed regret, Ian left the Square, throwing his phone away and departing Walford with one final angry look back.
