EASTENDERS affairs abound in Walford, but one of the most unlikely characters, Suki Panesar and Eve Unwin, may become a couple in upcoming scenes on the BBC soap, as they spend more time together.
Suki (Balvinder Sopal) has been struggling with her feelings for Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) for a long time on EastEnders, and she finally admitted she was in love with her earlier this month. The mother of two misinterpreted this to mean that the Pansear matriarch was a lesbian, but the BBC soap villain flew off the handle when she explained that she was only interested in the quirky character. Eve (Heather Peace) may be about to change all of that, as Suki may see a whole new side to her daughter’s love interest.
Suki is still distraught over Ash Panesar’s (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) departure from the Square a few weeks ago when the drama begins in next week’s episodes of the weeknight serial drama.
The family’s mother was the one who forced her daughter to leave after she made some derogatory remarks about her daughter’s bisexuality.
Taking action, the medical professional decided she couldn’t sit around and listen to her mother spew more venom, so she left, despite having just begun a relationship with Eve.
Suki is shocked when Stacey Slater’s (Lacey Turner) wife shows up and says she has heard from the doctor, despite the fact that she has not heard from Ash since she left.
Rather than being relieved, the Panesar clan’s matriarch decides to chastise Eve for turning her daughter against her.
Both women are quite strong-willed, and neither of them backs down when insults are hurled at one another in the street.
They have attracted the attention of the police, and despite the fact that no violence has been displayed, the authorities have taken action.
They put the women in the back of a police van until they calm down and sort out their differences.
Because the two women have nowhere else to go, they may confide in one another about their pasts and why they are so hot-headed.
Suki may not want to reveal too much, but seeing Eve so vulnerable may cause her to consider falling in love.
Suki may surprise Eve by admitting she has had these feelings in the past, particularly for how she treated her own daughter.
Instead of shouting at the top of their lungs, the two women could sit and listen to each other, and learn to understand each other a little better.
Suki could sit and admire Eve’s perseverance, knowing that it wasn’t always easy for her to carve a path for herself in life.
The matriarch would understand her daughter’s love interest’s determination to keep going, having built her business from the ground up.
They could finally call a truce on their rivalry after so much has been said between them in recent months.
Suki could lean in for a kiss before leaving the van, and she suddenly feels the same feelings she did for Honey.
Again, Eve would be taken aback by the unexpected event, and as she tries to communicate with her neighbor, the matriarch may flee.
Suki might get a visit from Eve later in the week, who wants to let her friend know she’ll be there for support if she needs it.
They could share another kiss before leaving, which could lead to the two of them going into the bedroom to begin their steamy affair.
But how long can they keep their relationship a secret, and will Suki treat Eve the same way she treated Honey?
Suki has slept with Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) on several occasions, indicating that she has a habit of falling into bed with her daughter’s love interests.
Her actions horrified her family, which is another reason Ash felt compelled to flee Walford.
What will Ash’s reaction be when she finally returns to the Square and finds her mother in bed with Eve?
Suki’s recent tryst with Peter prompted Balvinder, the actress who plays her, to explain why her character chose to pursue the young man again.
The soap star said: “She does it to prove something to herself, it’s not got anything to do with anyone else but her own issues.”
“She wants to prove to herself that she is powerful,” the actress added in an interview with Metro.co.uk.
“She goes to Peter to potentially find some kind of feeling that she isn’t able to receive from somebody like Honey.”
Because Honey is unlikely to pursue a relationship with Suki, Eve could be the perfect person to sweep the mother of four off her feet.
However, the two have previously clashed, so it could be either a match made in heaven or a disaster made in hell.
Will Suki finally be able to be herself instead of hiding behind a mask as a result of this romance?
