EastEnders’ Ben Mitchell makes big confession over Stuart’s disappearance

In EastEnders, Ben Mitchell is expected to confess to his role in Stuart Highway’s disappearance.

The stunning statement follows Ben’s increasingly erratic behavior in Friday’s (January 28) episode, in which he backed Stuart’s choice not to have his breast cancer treatment surgery.

Ben even went over and beyond by giving Stuart enough money to get out of the Square! Stuart’s wife Rainie and brother Callum will be worried about his sudden disappearance when the episode premieres next week.

While Callum is with Ben at Walford East, he eventually breaks down, but his husband is unhelpful because he is still vowing to remain closeted in public for fear of another attack.

After Callum is shocked by Ben’s lack of support, he will be even more shocked when his husband confesses that he was the one who urged Stuart to flee Walford.

Tanya Franks, who plays Stuart on Rainie, has described how her character reacts when she realizes he has abandoned his home ahead of these emotional occasions.

“She has no idea where he’s gone, he’s literally done a runner. He’s all over the place at the moment and she’s trying to keep tabs on him,” Franks explained recently.

“He’s scooting out from under her nose and she can’t predict what his next movements are going to be. She knows that he wants to avoid this surgery. Her biggest fear is the more he runs, the more time they’re losing. It’s about him but it’s also about him being a father to a child that they are having. It’s the bigger picture here.

“She’s petrified. Let’s not forget what she’s going through right now, she doesn’t know where Abi is in the world, she’s got a baby growing inside a woman that she doesn’t see and she’s now possibly losing the father of that baby and her husband who she loves more than anything in the world. She’s got three massive losses facing her right now.”

These scenes will air on Monday (January 31) on BBC One.
