EastEnders’ Ben Mitchell to have disturbing flashback after opening up to Callum

Ben Mitchell of EastEnders will be dealing with the fallout from Neil and his extreme right-wing thugs’ homophobic attack earlier this month.

Callum Highway manages to get through to Ben in scenes set to air next week, and the two agree to open up about their struggles and promise to be there for each other, but he will later discover his husband having a vivid flashback of the attack.

Ben was particularly horrified by the attack because it reminded him of how his former partner Paul Coker had been murdered in a similar attack years before, prompting him to return to the closet and stop living publicly as a gay man.

Ben met up with Paul’s grandmother Pam, who admitted that she wonders if Paul would still be alive if she hadn’t encouraged Paul to be so open about his sexuality.

Will Ben regain the courage to move on from the attack and live his life authentically once more?
