Although EastEnders has yet to announce storylines for the BBC soap this Christmas, a slew of stories, predictions, and spoilers have hinted at what’s to come.
Christmas on EastEnders is usually a major deal, especially with the episodes that show on Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.
Small teases have been provided ahead of full spoilers being released very shortly, so this year could be no different.
It appears that it will be a grim Christmas and New Year, with tales of a terrorist bomb putting lives in peril, a double wedding, and the possible downfall of serial killer Gray Atkins.
Denise Fox and Jack Branning, as well as her pregnant daughter Chelsea Fox and her partner Gray Atkins, were recently sighted filming a double wedding, with it confirmed Denise Fox and Jack Branning, as well as her pregnant daughter Chelsea Fox and her partner Gray Atkins, are all getting married.
But it appears Gray’s murderous games may be coming to an end, as This Morning’s Sharon Marshall teased Whitney Dean about being on to him and his evil behavior.
Gray murdered his previous wife Chantelle Atkins last year, and he later killed Tina Carter and Kush Kazemi, according to no one.
While rumors from filming at the wedding venue indicated that the killer would be stood up, it’s unclear whether Whitney will expose Gray.
It was also recently stated that a bomb might put people’s lives in danger.
In October, a source told The Sun: “The writers of EastEnders are under greater pressure than ever to make the Christmas episodes of the show a success.
“With the struggle for ratings becoming more intense than ever, executives are eager to bring out the major weapons for an explosive 2021 — literally. No one will be safe after a bomb is planted in Albert Square, according to the scripts.”
According to a source, “The bosses are keeping a tight lid on exactly what they have planned for Christmas this year, but they are going all out.
“With secrets plotted all over the Square, it’s only right and in typical EastEnders style that many of these look set to be exposed around the festivities.
“Put it this way, if you lived in Albert Square, you’d be grateful to receive just a pair of socks this year.”
So there are some major sequences ahead, including danger, Whitney perhaps bringing Gray down, and the wedding possibly not occurring as planned.
However, none of this has been confirmed by the BBC soap, and official spoilers have yet to be released – but they will be in the coming days.
Meanwhile, it’s been suggested that a year after Tina’s death, the truth regarding her assassination would be revealed.
Max Branning, who is presently on the run with his young granddaughter Abi, has hinted at a return after Mick Carter actor Danny Dyer teased the notion.
Danny said on Good Morning Britain in September: “It goes right off at Christmas, let me tell you that now. Of course it does, it’s Walford innit mate.”
