EastEnders aired Ellie Nixon’s final scenes last night (October 26) as Mica Paris’s guest stint came to an end.
Former What Not to Wear host Mica joined the show back in the summer as Ellie – the adoptive grandmother of Denise and Phil’s biological son Raymond.
Ellie’s criminal past has unravelled in recent episodes, as Phil (Steve McFadden) became determined to prove that she was unfit to take care of Raymond.
Ellie had demanded a sum of £250,000 from Phil in exchange for Raymond, but he had the last laugh with some handy help from Callum Highway (Tony Clay).
Viewers know that Callum has been helping Phil from the inside – something which his ruthless colleague DI Thompson used to his advantage.
DI Thompson has recruited Callum in his unlawful scheme to bring Phil down once and for all, and saw the Ellie business as a way of luring the Mitchell hardman into a false sense of security.
Under instruction, Callum told Phil that four of Ellie’s properties were going to be raided – and all he had to do was make Ellie believe that drugs had been planted in one of them.
When Ellie met up with Phil, he told her about the raids and insisted he’d only call them off if she legally handed Raymond over to Denise.
Ellie’s final scenes saw her reluctantly sign the papers, with trusty Mitchell lawyer Ritchie Scott later bringing Raymond to Denise, while Phil watched on.
A spokesperson for EastEnders has confirmed that this is the last we will be seeing of Ellie for the time being, but the door has very much been left open for a return.
Mica’s stint was only ever intended to be temporary
