EastEnders confirms return for Vi Highway as Stuart’s cancer story is revisited

Stuart’s cancer story will be revisited in upcoming scenes on EastEnders, which has confirmed Vi Highway’s return.

Gwen Taylor reprises her role as Callum and Stuart’s grandmother Vi in new photos, offering support to her grandson, who is refusing treatment for breast cancer.

Vi was last seen on screen in November, when she fled Walford to avoid the awkward conversations that would ensue after Stuart discovered her long-held family secret.

Vi had a son she’d given up for adoption when she was younger, it was revealed at the time. When Stuart figured everything out, Vi was working with Patrick to find her son Christopher.

Stuart went to the hospital for a routine check-up for a rash on his chest not long after Vi vanished from the Square, only to discover he has breast cancer.

Stuart kept the news from Rainie for weeks before finally admitting it to a friend, Sonia Fowler. Stuart’s worrying behavior, on the other hand, continued after he vanished from Walford.

Stuart’s doctor urged him to start treatment right away in January, but he refused because he was worried about the physical toll surgery would have on him.

Vi’s return to the Square could be the deciding factor in persuading Stuart to prioritize his health, but will she be able to persuade her grandson?
