EastEnders’ Harvey Monroe and Jean Slater get engaged

In EastEnders, Harvey Monroe and Jean Slater are engaged to be married.

The soap ended on a cliffhanger, with Jean Slater proposing to Harvey on Monday, despite the fact that he had broken up with her earlier in the episode. Harvey is still refusing to acknowledge Jean’s mental health issues.

Harvey was worried because he’d been attacked and threatened by a far-right member in order to smuggle a burner phone into prison for his son Aaron.

The next day, on Tuesday’s (April 12) episode, Jean revealed to a stunned Shirley Carter that Harvey was still considering her proposal.

Dana realized Harvey had a lot on his mind and made the hasty decision to turn down a university placement in order to care for him.

Rocky learned of Dana’s secret decision and informed Harvey, who was now feeling even more pressured to make things right with his daughter.

Harvey went to Dana to encourage her to go ahead with her university placement because he’d have Jean with him after Shirley Carter encouraged him not to wait any longer by mentioning Tina’s death.

Harvey told his daughter, “Jean, she came along when I needed her and she made me smile again.”

Harvey then surprised Jean with an extravagant proposal spelled out in rose petals (though he ran out of petals to complete the phrase), to which Jean happily agreed.

Harvey told Jean, “You are the most wonderful woman I’ve ever met.”

Harvey told Jean that he’d “never been more sure of anything” than proposing to her, despite the fact that his unsettled expression suggested otherwise.
