EastEnders’ Hunter Owen actor looks unrecognisable after reinventing himself as a rapper

Charlie Winter, the star of EASTENDERS, has revealed that he has abandoned acting in favor of a rap career.

In February 2018, the actor played Hunter Owen, who arrived in Walford with his mother, Tamzin Outhwaite’s character Mel.

However, after a dramatic storyline, his character was shot and killed by police just over a year after first arriving in the Square.

The 26-year-old has been focusing all of his efforts on his music career since leaving the BBC soap two years ago.

The actor, who goes by the stage name Chaz, has removed all references to his soap opera past from his social media accounts, leaving only a few posed photos to promote his music career.

He posed for several shots in a black and grey hoodie with a white chevron stripe while in the studio in his most recent post, which was shared in November.

“It’s just been that kind of night, lately that’s all the time,” he captioned the photo.

Charlie recorded his first rap single on a day off from filming in Albert Square in 2019 and released it on YouTube.

Cheeky Chappy Flow was the actor’s first single, and the video was shot in Regent’s Park in London.

The lyrics are full of jabs at his appearance, with lines like “keeping it simple smile and dimples” and a message to his “haters” like “girls see you and they blink and leave.”

After it was confirmed that he had been fired from the soap, he wowed his fans with the release of his second rap video, Overdue Freestyle, which samples Ultra Nate’s classic 90s track Free.

SOAP PAST

In 2018, Charlie debuted on the BBC soap EastEnders alongside his on-screen mother Tamzin, who played Mel, a returning character.

Mel had fled Albert Square in 2002 after Hunter’s father, Steve Owen, died in a car crash and explosion in which he was driving.

After shooting his mother’s cheating fiancé Ray Kelly when he threatened to kill her, the pair returned 16 years later, and the teen was involved in one of the show’s most dramatic storylines, with viewers watching his character incarcerated.

Mel assisted him in covering up the crime, but when he was caught, he took full responsibility so Mel could remain free.

The mother was determined to avenge her son by exacting revenge on Jack Branning, but she couldn’t bring herself to do so in the end, and she and Hunter suffered the consequences.

Hunter was killed by police after shooting Ben Mitchell and Keanu Taylor and attempting to murder Louise after he escaped prison a year after moving to the Square.
