In dramatic new images from Friday’s (February 25) EastEnders episode, Phil Mitchell takes on Tommy Moon’s bullies.
Since he stood up for his cousin Scarlett Butcher earlier this year, Kat Slater’s son has found himself outnumbered by older students at school.
Phil takes matters into his own hands – literally – when he discovers Tommy is trapped with the bullies in the abandoned Argee Bhajee, according to terrifying new preview photos from the next episode.
Phil, never one to solve problems rationally, goes full gangster mode by storming the Argee Bhajee with a pipe and threatening to kill all of the bullies unless Tommy is left alone.
Phil’s tactics are clearly ineffective, but his visceral rage is understandable given that the situation reminds him of his son Ben Mitchell being bullied when he was a child.
Those shocking scenes follow Kat’s proposal to Phil, which she made after learning that he would sign over all of his businesses to her as a way to protect her.
Phil is facing a lengthy prison sentence because he refused to grass on his criminal associates. He’ll also attempt to ‘toughen up’ Tommy so that he can protect himself while he’s gone.
In Friday’s episode, Ben interjects to question Phil’s treatment of Tommy, further complicating the bullying situation.
Sadly for Tommy, the bullying will continue despite Phil’s threats. Kat will reach a breaking point in next week’s episodes when her son tries to scrape together enough money to pay off his tormentors.
