During the middle of the Stacey and Jean feud storyline, EASTENDERS recast the role of Arthur Fowler, and the actor posted a heartfelt message.
Following the departure of previous actor Hunter Bell from the BBC soap, the role of Arthur Folwer was recently recast. Rocco Brenner, the new actor, has joined the soap in the midst of a major storyline between Stacey Slater (played by Lacey Turner) and Jean Slater (played by Rocco Brenner) (Gillian Wright). The two have been feuding for the past few weeks as Stacey tries desperately to help her mother recover from a manic episode. However, it appears that Jean has made up her mind and is fleeing Walford for a weekend away with her new boyfriend, Harvey Monroe, in recent scenes and scenes to come (Ross Boatman).
Hunter Bell has been playing Arthur Fowler since 2016 and has been a part of several major storylines during his time on the show.
However, he recently revealed on Instagram that he had completed filming his final scenes as Arthur before departing from the soap.
He wrote alongside a photo of himself holding a signed road sign of Albert Square: “I’ve been a character on #bbcone’s most popular soap EastEnders for 6 years of my 6-year-old life.
“I was chosen to play #BabyArthur since I was a baby. Since then, I’ve grown into the Arthur Fowler that you’ve come to know and love.
“However, at the age of six, I made the decision that I wanted to try new things in life. So there you have it, my final hurrah.
“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who helped make this possible, especially my parents, Sarah de Suzie, for believing in me, and my television parents, @laceyturner, @jimmybye, and @therealdavood.
“I’ll remember many things from this incredible experience, including my first steps, working with the legendary Dot Cotton, Phil Mitchel, and Patrick, as well as meeting the incredible @patrickberginofficial.”
“And, last but not least, thank you to everyone who has backed me up, shown me love, and sent me amazing positive messages; it means so much, @bbceastenders.” (sic
Hunter also congratulated Rocco Brennan, the new Arthur Fowler, on Twitter, saying, “I want to say a HUGE congratulations to Rocco Brennan on replacing me as the new Arthur Fowler.”
“I’m confident you’ll be a huge success. I’m looking forward to seeing you develop as I did for the past six years.”
Stacey and Jean’s feud began on Monday’s (March 21) episode, when they got into an argument over Arthur.
Jean insisted to Stacey that she tell the truth about Arthur’s father, Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), and how he died.
Later, Jean revealed to Martin Fowler (James Bye) that she had ordered a bouncy castle to help keep the kids’ spirits up while Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) was dealing with his own problems.
Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton), on the other hand, was irritated by Jean’s plan and chastised her for blocking the street.
“I’m trying to cheer up my grandson, whose father was murdered,” Jean exploded at Honey, “so please tell me, what is so wrong with that?”
During the festivities, Arthur informed his mother and Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) that Jean had injured him in the bouncy castle.
After everyone had gone home, Stacey confronted Jean, accusing her of injuring Arthur when she pushed him and telling her she was no longer allowed to see the kids alone.
“You can see them,” Stacey insisted, “but not on your own.” “You’re not feeling well. You require assistance. You need to see a doctor, and you’re not going to see the kids until you do.”
Jean is about to leave Walford for a weekend away with Harvey, but she is about to get herself into trouble when she begins to frolic in the sea while wearing a wedding gown.
