EastEnders spoilers: Aftermath of Ben’s attack on Peter revealed in new preview clip

On Wednesday (May 11), Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) is on pins and needles as the investigation into the attack on Peter Beale (Dayle Hudson) begins.

As viewers know, Peter was assaulted in a case of mistaken identity on Tuesday’s (May 10) episode of the BBC One soap.

Ben mistook him for homophobe Rich, who had earlier that day made obscene remarks about Callum Highway’s (Tony Clay) police poster.

Rich later appeared outside The Prince Albert, but bar manager Lewis Butler (Aidan O’Callaghan) refused him entry due to his abusive behavior.

Ben, who has been acting as a vigilante in recent weeks, decided to exact vengeance by assaulting a man he mistook for Rich.

His victim, however, was Peter, much to his surprise.

Wednesday’s visit to the Square continues the next day, with a new preview clip posted on EastEnders’ social media accounts revealing that an investigation into the assault has been launched.

In an attempt to figure out who left Peter in such a state, Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) dons his detective hat. Meanwhile, Ben is becoming concerned.

‘This bloke is starting to slant, isn’t he?’ Jack observes. ‘I struck twice in the same spot.

‘It won’t be long until we get him!’

Ben is tense, trying to keep his cool as Callum questions him about why he didn’t show up for their anniversary celebration the night before.

Is it only a matter of time before Ben’s heinous behavior is revealed?
