EastEnders spoilers: Car crash ending in killer Gray showdown?

Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) will be involved in a chase sequence during a major showdown next week, according to EastEnders production manager Rona McKendrick.

On March 7, new soap opera schedules will begin to air.

It will also be the first episode of EastEnders to air on the new £87 million set, which will allow for more action sequences such as car and foot chases across Walford.

‘There’s a chase sequence in the fourth episode – to show off as much of the new area as we possibly can,’ Rona told Radio Times.
The fourth episode she’s referring to is the week’s end, when multiple residents discover Gray has murdered Tina and Chantelle.

These scenes will air on Thursday, as EastEnders will now air from Monday to Thursday at 7:30 p.m. under the new schedule.

Director Richard Lynn also discussed the advantages of a new set for filming dramatic scenes in Walford:

Because there were so many dead ends on the old lot, chase scenes would inevitably go in one direction only. There’s a lot more leeway now, with more places for the good guys to hide and the bad guys to congregate.

‘I’d like to do a foot chase in the alleys or back gardens,’ says the narrator.

Gray realizes his options are quickly running out as the pace picks up next week, but who will catch the killer?

Will there be a car chase, or will the murderer be pursued on foot through Albert Square?

Maybe it’s something completely different?

Whatever it is, Toby-Alexander Smith has already stated that a major stunt is in the works.

‘Whitney has been trying to get Gray for a long time, so there’s going to be a big showdown.’ It was a lot of fun to watch them fight each other,’ he said.

‘There will be some extremely tense moments.’ There’s a big stunt involved, and we both had a great time filming it.’

Will Whitney (Shona McGarty) get her retaliation? Is it you or someone else?
