EastEnders spoilers: Sharon Watts throws drink in Sam Mitchell’s face after shock return…

When Sam Mitchell returns to Walford, Sharon Watts throws a drink in her face, she won’t get a warm welcome.

Kim Medcalf will reprise her role as Peggy Mitchell’s notorious only daughter in the BBC soap.
And on April 19, she’ll make a comeback.

The BBC has released the first image of Sam’s return, which shows her standing in the Square with her bags after arriving from the airport.

As a furious Sharon rages at her, she ends up in the Albert, doused in a drink.

Fans, on the other hand, believe they’ve already spotted a hint about her return.

Could the Mitchells’ fortunes be brightened by a surprise return?

Phil continues to serve time in prison while his son Ben recovers from the trauma of a horrific homophobic attack that occurred earlier this year.

Phil’s partner Kat Slater received a mysterious and dangerous package containing a gun in recent episodes.

The owner of Kat’s Cabs managed to keep the gun hidden from her troubled son, Tommy Moon, in the hopes that it would be found soon.

Fans, on the other hand, see this as a sign that Sam Mitchell is returning to Walford to cause more havoc.

The gun, according to BBC One viewers, must be linked to Sam.

One EastEnders fan commented on social media, “Calling it the gun is for Sam and she’s already back in Walford.”

“We also have no idea whose gun Phil was trying to get rid of. Another wrote, “For all we know, that gun could be linked to Sam,” while a third added, “I reckon the gun is for Sam.””

Danniella Westbrook has been playing the younger sister of Phil and Grant Mitchell (who moved to Portugal) in Albert Square since 2016.

Sam’s return has been confirmed, and actress Kim Medcalf will take over for Danniella in the coming weeks.

She was even seen filming again in February of 2022.

Kim took over the role of Sam from Danniella in 2002 and remained in it until 2005.

Danniella was back to play Sam when she returned to Walford in 2009.

Sam attended her mother Peggy’s funeral before fleeing to Portugal alone, leaving her only son Ricky with his father Jack Branning.

Ricky has been attending Walford Primary School as a Year 6 student since then, living a normal life with his father Jack and stepmother Denise Fox.

Since last autumn, EastEnders executives have reportedly been in contact with Kim.

According to a source, “Sam’s return has been on the cards for quite some time.”

“They thought she’d be a good fit for this version of Sam. It’s not that Danniella is a bad person; she made a name for herself as the character.”

“However, as is common in soap operas, the executives wanted to recast Sam and take him in a different direction. Kim is set to start filming in two weeks, and everyone is ecstatic.”

“When the BBC approached me last year to reprise the role of Sam, I was thrilled,” Kim said in a statement, expressing her excitement.

“She’s a fantastic character, and I’m looking forward to returning to the Square and working with the incredible cast.”

Is Sam, on the other hand, already back in Albert Square?

EastEnders airs on BBC One from Monday to Thursday at 7.30 p.m.
