EastEnders spoilers: Wedding suicide trauma for Jean Slater

In upcoming EastEnders scenes, Jean Slater’s life is on the line when she ends up in the sea as part of a major mental health storyline.

Gillian Wright, who plays Jean, was spotted in Southend filming for the BBC One soap.

Jean was spotted in the water, struggling to stay afloat in what will undoubtedly be distressing scenes.

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), on the other hand, jumps in to save her mother, with photos of the two together.

Is Jean going to be all right? Will Stacey be able to make it on time?

‘This is a big mental health story for Jean,’ a source told Metro.co.uk in reference to the Southend episodes.

‘After Gillian’s previous award-winning performances, the bosses are optimistic that they will be successful.’

Gillian was spotted filming at the Adventure Island theme park on Southend’s seafront earlier this week.

Jean was seen running through the park with her handbag slung over her arm, clearly distressed.

It’s unclear why she’s going to Southend or who she’s trying to marry, though it’s possible the groom-to-be is none other than her current love interest, Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman).

Martin Fowler’s actor, James Bye, was also seen filming earlier this week as he accompanies a worried Stacey to Southend on a mission to find her mother.

Stacey has recently expressed her concern for Jean, whose recent behavior has led her to believe she is going through a manic episode.

Jean, on the other hand, has made it clear that she does not want Stacey interfering with her personal affairs.

Despite telling Jean what she wants to hear, it’s clear that Stacey is still skeptical, and tensions between the mother and daughter duo will escalate next week.

Jean, you see, buys a bouncy castle for all the kids to enjoy, effectively blocking the market. When Stacey sees what her mother has done, she is mortified and does everything she can to get her off the bouncy castle.

Harvey joins Jean, enraging Stacey by implying that he doesn’t fully comprehend Jean’s situation. Stacey goes to great lengths to help her mother, including prohibiting her from being alone with the kids until she sees a doctor!

When Jean goes missing with Arthur later in the week, things get a lot worse.

Stacey eventually finds them, but she is devastated to learn that Jean told Arthur about Gray Atkins killing Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) (Toby-Alexander Smith).

Jean arrives at Harvey and Rocky’s (Brian Conley) after a huge argument with Stacey, revealing that she’s moving in with them and claiming that Stacey is dead to her.
