EastEnders Stacey Slater exit sealed after Martin Fowler bombshell?

Stacey Slater, a long-time resident of EASTENDERS, may be leaving Walford after her ex-husband Martin Fowler drops a devastating bombshell.

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Martin Fowler (James Bye), EastEnders residents, have had their ups and downs over the years, but the former lovers have remained friends for the sake of their daughter Lily Slater (Lillia Turner). However, the couple may have reached their breaking point, with Stacey possibly leaving Albert Square as Martin drops a massive bombshell.

Martin and Stacey have been at odds for the past few weeks after discovering they had applied for the same job by mistake.

Martin walked out of the building looking pleased with himself as she arrived for her interview, revealing that he, too, was applying for the position of market inspector.

Stacey, on the other hand, appeared to have an unfair advantage after her new wife and prison pal Eve Unwin (Heather Peace) assisted her with her CV.

Stacey was embarrassed during the interview when she was questioned about the information on her CV and discovered Eve had embellished it.

As Stacey prepares for her first day, Martin tells Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) that he turned down the inspector job but doesn’t explain why.

Stacey snaps at Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and Martin when they try to help her get ready for her first day.

She apologizes for irritating them and explains that she wants to do a good job because she felt lost when she was released from prison.

She asks Martin if he’s jealous of her, teasing her ex-husband, but he can’t help but admit he was the one who turned down the job first.

Will Stacey take the job now that she knows the truth about why she got it?

Could Martin’s refusal to take the job indicate that he still has feelings for Stacey?

Will Stacey decide to leave Walford and start a new life without him?

After facing prison time for allegedly pushing Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) down a flight of stairs, Stacey returned to Albert Square last year.

Jean Slater (Gillian Wright), Stacey’s mother, exacted her vengeance on Ruby by stitching her up and implicating her in a drug ring.

Martin became concerned about his future after learning of Stacey’s return when he realized Lily would be returning home with the Slaters.

Stacey told Martin she wanted to speak with him privately when she returned home and met everyone at her welcome home party.

Zack Hudson (James Farrar) encouraged his friend to tell Stacey how he regretted the way he treated her over the last few years, which piqued his interest.

He admitted to Stacey: “I messed up with Ruby and you going to prison, I want to be there for the kids and for you.”

She called him a “complete idiot” and then revealed she had remarried while she was away, being blunt and looking uncomfortable.

Stacey said: “I wanted to meet you because I need your help. I need to tell the kids something, and I don’t think I can do it on my own.

“I, umm, I got married again.”
