EastEnders Stacey Slater to cheat on wife Eve in affair twist with unlikely resident?

Stacey Slater of EASTENDERS may be planning to cheat on her wife and best friend Eve Unwin as she rekindles her relationship with ex-husband Martin Fowler.

Stacey (played by Lacey Turner) and Martin (James Bye) have fueled their rivalry over the past few weeks as they competed for the position of new market inspector. Stacey announced she had gotten the job after their interviews, but it wasn’t long before Martin admitted he had stepped down from the position to allow Stacey to take it. Martin was seen lending a helping hand to Stacey in tonight’s episode, and their relationship appeared to be mending itself. Could they give their relationship another chance?

Stacey was seen lounging on the sofa with her wife, muttering about Mr Lister (Nick Wilton) picking her as his second choice for the market job, at the start of Monday night’s episode.

Gillian Wright’s character, Jean Slater, reminded her daughter that she “had no experience,” to which she agreed and ended up rowing with Eve.

“She’s right,” Stacey exclaimed. “If you hadn’t have stuck your ore in and created a dodgy CV, I might have been alright!”

Shocked at Stacey’s outburst, Eve asked: “So this is my fault now?” as Stacey bluntly replied: “Well, yeah, it is actually.

“I told you that it wasn’t right,” she continued but Eve interrupted her rant and yelled: “It’s a job, Stacey, beggers can’t be choosers.

“Get up and get outside, we need the money! The offers have been rolling in, haven’t they? You’re an ex-con.”

Trouble erupted on the market when Shrimpy (Ben Champniss) and a new stall-lender got into a fight.

“I don’t want knocked-off gear on my market, and I’m pretty sure you’ll end up in hospital,” Stacey told the new lender.

However, he quickly grabbed a handful of stock from Shrimpy’s rack and bolted, leaving Stacey in a pickle with the other lenders.

As Stacey tidied up the litter from the floor, Martin joked: “Lister ain’t going to like this, you’re getting trashed at work.

“I mean, it’s rubbish, wheely bin unlucky,” he quipped but Stacey wasn’t in the mood for jokes and snapped: “I’m glad you find it funny.

“How am I meant to get anyone’s respect with stupid jokes like that?”

Martin continued to tease his ex-wife and said: “To be fair, it’s going to be hard when you look like an extra from Worzel Gummidge.

“It’s a joke, Stace, you need to get a sense of humour,” he argued however, Stacey fired back: “No, do you know what you need to do.

“Stop breathing down my neck! You think I can’t see you, watching, waiting for me to slip up, do you know what, Martin? I had this job.

“You’re easy, your guilty conscience, you feel bad because your psycho wife got me sent down.”

Martin interrupted her and said: “That is not the reason that I sacrificed a job that I really wanted.

“Do you think it’s fun for me to have to keep an eye out for you? I’m tired of worrying about the next stupid thing you’ll do.”

“I missed out on my kid’s life because of you,” she snarled, “my mother was dying, and I wasn’t there for her, so you can stick your help where it belongs, I’m perfectly capable of looking after myself.”

Stacey started walking away from Martin, but he intervened just as she was about to walk into the path of an oncoming car.

As Stacey recovered from her near-miss with the car, the two sat down for a more relaxed conversation, with Martin expressing his regret.

“You were right, I should have never trusted Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton),” he said.

Stacey laughed and said: “Oh, finally, something we can both agree on!”

They both admitted to not being the best towards one another and promised to help one another more often after having a heart-to-heart with one another.

Is this the beginning of a new relationship between the two?

Will Stacey tell Eve how she feels, or is this the start of a relationship between her and Martin?
