EastEnders’ Steve McFadden, who plays Phil Mitchell, caught breaking speed limit on moped in London

For speeding on his moped, EastEnders actor Steve McFadden was fined £580 and given five points on his license.

On October 7, last year, the actor, who is best known for his role as Phil Mitchell on the long-running BBC One soap, was caught driving his scooter at nearly twice the speed limit in a London neighborhood.

While riding his Piaggio moped, the 63-year-old, whose character is known for his hard man persona, was doing 35 mph in a 20 mph zone.

According to the Sun, the actor was pulled over by a police officer with a mobile speed gun as he drove near his London home.

He was then charged with speeding and pleaded guilty, and his case was heard at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 17.

McFadden did not attend the hearing, which was held behind closed doors as part of a Special Judicial Procedure.

On request, the court released details of the hearing, including documents revealing he was apprehended in Hampstead’s Fitzjohns Avenue.

The actor was fined £440 and ordered to pay £100 in costs and a £44 victim surcharge after admitting to the crime.

His driver’s license was also endorsed with five points.

The actor is a known fan of two-wheeled transportation and has been seen riding a scooter to the EastEnders set in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

In 2017, he was spotted riding his beloved motorcycle to his neighborhood Fish & Chip Shop to pick up dinner.

With a helmet on and a hi-vis jacket on, the star was hard to miss while running errands.

He wore his safety jacket with a pair of black sports shorts, leaving his legs exposed, and finished off his look with black socks and matching trainers.

With the visor flicked up, McFadden was barely visible beneath the large helmet he wore atop his head.

He hung the bag of food between his legs on his bike as he got to grips with the handle bars in an attempt to speed away after retrieving his dinner.
