After seven years, Tanya Franks, an EastEnders actor, is apparently no longer playing Rainie Cross on the BBC serial opera.
The 54-year-old has intermittently appeared in the series since 2007, and she most recently did so in 2015. However, it appears that she will quit the program in a plot in which her character leaves Albert Square with her infant Roland.
After her son Stuart Highway’s father Stuart Highway abandoned him during his fight with depression and left him in the care of surrogate Bernie Taylor, Rainie, who is the sister of the established character Tanya Branning, and her son fell out of contact (Clair Norris)
But when Rainie became weary of looking after the child, Bernie gave her a choice.
“I shouldn’t be the only one putting Roland first,” she remarked. He does not get to suffer because of the disintegration of your marriage.
In yet-to-air television sequences, Rainie informs Stuart, “My defenseless little kid is now the most important.” I’ll be alright, your faces.
The Sun reported that Rainie then saw getting into a taxi with Roland as she finally left Walford.
Shortly after Rainie’s parting scenes have aired, Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) is also rumored to be quitting the show.
For a response, MailOnline has contacted BBC.
It happens just days after Maddy Hill, who was formerly a part of the soap opera as market vendor Nancy Carter, also resigned on Thursday.
After her lover Zack Hudson (James Farrar) betrayed on her with Sam Mitchell, the adored charted relocated to Manchester (Kim Medcalf).
After resuming her role as Nancy Carter for just one year, fans were left feeling “gutted” when actress Maddie abruptly left the drama in shock scenes.
One fan encouraged them to “come back soon” while another expressed their “gut-wrenching” emotion.
As the actress stated: “It’s been nice revisiting Nancy and the Square over the past year, but it felt like the perfect time to move on for now,” it appears that Maddy’s character has reached its conclusion. I am really appreciative to work with folks I love so much and already miss everyone.
A representative for EastEnders told MailOnline that they wish Maddy nothing but the best in the future.
