EastEnders’ Zack Morris explains Keegan’s explosive decision in van saga

Zack Morris discussed the shocking EastEnders scenes in which Keegan set fire to his own van with Digital Spy.

After a massive argument with his family about failing to recognize Chantelle had been in trouble, Keegan took the drastic step in Wednesday’s (March 16) episode.

When we asked Morris about Keegan’s drastic decision, he explained that his character acted rashly because Gray had been instrumental in his business’s success.

“In essence, Keegan wanted to get rid of Gray and everything related to him,” he explained. “Anything with a layer of Gray around it, he wants to get rid of it, he doesn’t want to be near it, and he’s rejected it all.”

“I don’t blame him because Gray was manipulative, twisted things, and in the end, he killed Keegan’s sister.” He doesn’t want anything to do with him, and that’s where the van comes in.”

Mitch Baker and the Taylor family’s lives were in shambles in Wednesday’s special episode, as they tried to pick up the pieces after learning Gray had murdered Chantelle.

Keegan was blaming himself in particular because Kheerat Panesar had recognized Chantelle was being abused while her family had failed to notice. Keegan’s friends and family tried to persuade him that nothing was his fault.

Despite this, Keegan continued to wallow in depression, drowning his sorrows. Whitney Dean tracked him down to try to explain the situation, but they were interrupted by an enraged Suki Panesar.

Suki was enraged at Whitney for telling police how far she’d gone with Kheerat to entrap Gray before his arrest, as this could jeopardize Kheerat’s own assault case.

Suki’s words struck Keegan hard, as he realized Kheerat could face serious prison time for trying to do the right thing. When he returned home, Keegan had a huge fight with his mother Karen about everything that had gone wrong in their family.

Meanwhile, Whitney dialed an emergency number, pleading for help with Keegan. Maisie Smith is set to return as part of Keegan’s exit storyline, as fans already know.

When Karen apologizes to Mitch for blaming him for Chantelle’s situation, it appeared that the Taylors might be able to find some peace. They were shocked, however, to see Keegan outside, burning his van down!

“Gray, I see you. I notice you, “Keegan screamed back at the flaming van, his eyes welling up with tears.
