Emmerdale fans baffled as Manpreet Sharma goes missing and Priya makes huge error

Following yesterday’s cliffhanger ending, tonight’s Emmerdale premiered with the question on everyone’s minds: ‘Where is Manpreet?’

As she entered her pleas in court regarding a rash of murders that had plagued the village, the village Doctor came face to face with her evil sister, Meena Jutla.

Manpreet Sharma wandered off into the forest after a severe panic attack, unable to cope with her sister’s cruel deeds and decision to plead not guilty in Thursday’s episode of the ITV soap.

Following up on the previous episode, a few residents expressed concern about Manpreet’s whereabouts, with her ex-partner vicar Charles expressing concern when she didn’t answer her phone.

Priya Sharma, the wedding planner, perplexed many fans when she reportedly stumbled across the doctor’s abandoned car and phone – and shared the news with Charles, but without revealing any details of the location she’d discovered it at!

@sofaneilas, a Twitter user, thought it was hilarious, and tweeted, “I found a car!” “Oh great, where are you? hangs up you’re super legit.”

“Might have been an idea to tell him where the car is…” tweeted @Deew04, who agreed.

Manpreet reappeared in the village after one of the shortest searches in the show’s history, with no explanation as to what had been going through her mind at the time of her disappearance until she began to open up to her former husband Rishi Sharma.

Many fans were unimpressed by the development and her brief disappearance, taking to Twitter to criticize both those who loved her for failing to search for her and those who questioned what the point of such a lackluster development was in the first place.

“I know Priya went for a stroll to look for #Manpreet, but no one REALLY seemed to care that she was missing,” one fan, @Jacobwyn29, tweeted.

“Oh, panic over…Manpreet survived the wooded experience again…bet she was lying on the back seat & Priya neglected to see her,” said @moore95 pamela.

“I thought it was going to be like that episode of Grange Hill where they found Danny Kendall dead in Mr Bronson’s car,” @ToriaTowers said when she opened the car door.

“I love how people wander around the village at night in the winter and never catch even the slightest cold…” tweeted @AVFCLil.

“Manpreet has obviously forgotten where she parked and still thinks she’s married to Rishi,” @VampLover said of tonight’s events.

Teena Massam, on the other hand, couldn’t help but be amused by how easy the writing was. “Well blow me, Rishi looks out the window just as Manpreet strolls past…” she wrote in a tweet.

@fussyMcWhiskers was also taken aback by how indifferent Priya appeared to be in her search for her former stepmother. “Priya to Rishi,” she exclaimed, “I looked everywhere!! “Manpreet is in your garden!” exclaims the narrator.
