EMMERDALE THEORY: Emmerdale’s Tracy Metcalfe may have left the ITV soap earlier this year to take on a new job, but it appears she will be returning to the village with a new arrival on her arm when she returns.
Tracy (Amy Walsh) had a rough time before leaving Emmerdale in January, after learning that her boyfriend Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) had slept with Vanessa Woodfield’s (Michelle Hardwick) girlfriend, Fiona Murphy (Yemisi Oyinloye). Despite her initial heartbreak, the news inspired her to prioritize herself, as she was offered a job in Nottingham after hosting a seminar at a postnatal depression conference. The beloved character has moved away from the ITV soap’s base, and she could be in the midst of a new romance with a familiar face.
Tracy revealed after her departure from the show that she had decided not to rekindle her relationship with Nate because she wanted to focus on herself.
Cain Dingle’s (Jeff Hordley) son was still hoping for a romantic relationship with the mother of his daughter Frankie when she returned to the village.
Unfortunately, she may have met a handsome man during her time in Nottingham, and he may have proposed to her despite the fact that they had only known each other for a short time.
When Tracy returns to the Dales, she may reveal that she is planning to marry a character played by former EastEnders actor Toby-Alexander Smith.
Because he is the real-life partner of Amy, who plays Tracy, he played the role of killer Gray Atkins on the BBC soap.
According to reports, Toby-Alexander may switch shows and star alongside Amy when she returns from maternity leave in January after giving birth to the couple’s first child.
Jo Threlfall, Head of Digital PR at Embryo digital marketing agency, said there’s a good chance the actor will play a new character on the show.
They explained: “Since his debut on EastEnders, Toby Alexander-career Smith’s has exploded.
“And since his dramatic exit from the soap, the actor has been able to pursue other acting opportunities.
In an exclusive interview with the Daily Star, they said, “Rumours have emerged that the soap star could appear alongside his partner Amy, if so, he could potentially earn over £500,000 a year.”
Nothing has been confirmed, as Toby-last Alexander’s episode of EastEnders aired only last week, with his character’s storyline coming to a dramatic conclusion.
His Emmerdale alter-ego, unlike the serial killer he recently played, could be someone who is willing to go to any length for Amy.
He could be a charismatic local who attracts the attention of many of the Dales’ ladies while also making friends with many familiar faces.
However, like all newcomers, the character may still be hiding a secret or two that will be revealed over the course of the year.
Will Tracy be willing to give the relationship a chance once everything is out in the open, or will she be drawn back to Nate?
For the time being, Amy appears to be looking forward to taking a break from the show while her character continues her new job in Nottingham.
When asked about temporarily stepping away from the role, the actress said: “I’m looking forward to a break from work.
“I enjoy my job and being there, but the Covid situation has made things a lot more difficult, and it’s not going away anytime soon.
“I’m glad to be getting a break from that aspect of things. Because I divide my time between the North and the South, my life is not easy.
It’s been a lot of traveling and living out of a suitcase, so I’m looking forward to just being in one place for a long time and enjoying it “What To Watch was told by her.
When Tracy does return to the Dales, the actress also spoke about what she would like to see happen for her.
Amy stated that she will be off the show for about a year, indicating that she will most likely return in early 2023.
She also stated that she has no idea where the writers will take her character because she believes she needs “a bit of a shake-up.”
As a result, a new romance with the possibility of forming a love triangle with Nate could be the ideal storyline for her.
Viewers of the weeknight serial drama seem eager to see her back in the middle of the village’s drama.
“Goodbye (for now) Tracy, like Vanessa, we will miss you @amywalsh27 #Emmerdale,” Grace wrote on Twitter.
Dan The Chatterbox went on to say: “Tracy’s departure makes me sad. #emmerdale actress has recently given birth to a child; we hope she returns soon.”
“#emmerdale goodbye Tracy, will miss her loads,” Yasmin said.
Not everyone shared Dave’s point of view: “Why are they making such a big deal about Tracy leaving when she’ll be back in 9 months? #Emmerdale.”
