Following the events of Wednesday night’s episode of the ITV soap, Lydia Dingle, who became pretty interested in Will Taylor, could be on her way to uncovering Dawn Taylor’s horrific secret.
Lydia (Karen Blick) has had a tumultuous few weeks in Emmerdale, with her marriage falling apart and her family abandoning her after she reported Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) to the police for the murder of Ben Tucker (Simon Lennon).
She’s been attempting to distract herself by becoming involved in other people’s relationships since she divorced her husband, Sam Dingle (James Hooton).
None more so than Kim Tate’s (Claire King) as she pursues a romance with Will (Dean Andrews), but as Lydia follows his every move, she may learn how his daughter Dawn (Olivia Bromley) was involved in a murder on the ITV soap.
Lydia has been keeping an eye on Will and Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) for a few days because she suspects they have been having an affair behind Kim’s back.
The ruthless businesswoman is convinced there is no romantic connection between the two, despite the fact that she is completely wrong.
Bernice told Will about her feelings earlier this week, and while he admitted there was a spark, he remained loyal to Home Farm’s owner.
Despite the fact that the two have already separated ways, Dawn’s father is planning a nice Christmas with his lover, unaware that Lydia has begun to stalk him.
Lydia shared her thoughts on Kim’s partner with the businesswoman after chasing him around the village for a few hours in the latest episode of the village-based drama.
The cleaner said of her experience in the shop with Will: “He was buying something but I couldn’t tell what [it was].
“Basically, the bottom line is, he was buying your Christmas present and even wanted to wrap it himself to show it was even more from the heart.
“Honestly, I don’t think you need to fret about Will. I think he’s properly taken with you, honestly,” Lydia told Kim.
She may have decided not to follow the couple any longer, but she could keep a closer check on Will to divert herself from her own issues.
However, as she listens in on his conversations and monitors his every move, she may uncover a horrific truth that he and Dawn have been keeping hidden.
Dawn assassinated DI Malone (Mark Womack) last year after his reign of terror put her family in grave danger.
Will became complicit in the incident when he was able to hide the detective’s body on the grounds of Home Farm, where no one would notice he was missing.
Kim recently uncovered this secret and agreed to keep it for Dawn’s father because she has fallen for him.
Lydia, on the other hand, would be hearing about this for the first time, and she might be able to piece together the puzzle if she overhears a conversation between Will and Dawn.
Her recent reputation has revealed that she is willing to report people to the police in order to obtain justice, allowing her to frame Dawn for Malone’s murder.
Lydia may believe it is her job to report the crime because she believes Kim is in danger, and May will go to any extent to keep his dark secrets hidden.
Lydia could ensure that both Taylors are prosecuted for the murder, as she does not want any repercussions for the owner of Home Farm.
She could lead the cops straight to the crime scene, and because there is no evidence to suggest who killed him, an investigation would be the best way to find out.
Lydia would tell the authorities everything she had overheard, but because there was no tape, the Taylors would have to confess.
Dawn might finally acknowledge she killed Malone after carrying this secret for so long, and she wants to be punished for it.
Will Lydia take on a new role in the village as a sleuth, attempting to solve all of the other murders that have occurred?
Or will she realize she’s become too close to other people’s dying experiences and realize she needs to focus on her own issues?
The cleaner may decide that now is the time to work on her mirage and see if she can rescue it as a result of her discoveries.
Will maybe furious with her for reporting him and his daughter to the cops, but knowing Dawn is relieved may soften his heart.
Will he ever appreciate Lydia for being nosy and allowing the Taylors to be free of the sorrow they’ve been carrying for so long?
Speaking about the aftermath of Malone’s murder last year, the actress who plays Dawn, Olivia, said: “Dawn is really going to struggle with the guilt.
“And the secret that’s going to eat away at her, so I think we’re probably going to see Dawn start to spiral a little bit out of control.
“And it’s so difficult because she’s only just got her life back on track,” the soap star told ITV’s Lorraine.
Dawn will see her former lover Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) over the holidays because she believes she has a bright future ahead of her.
Will Lydia, on the other hand, derail this and be able to cope with life behind bars?
