EMMERDALE couples are currently having difficulties in the village, but it appears that Belle Dingle’s relationship with Ellis Champman on the ITV soap could lead to the addition of a new cast member in the near future.
Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) has been enamored with how things have been going with Ellis (Aaron Anthony), especially now that his affair with Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) appears to be over. Since he left her to die in the woods, the young Emmerdale heartthrob has been spending a lot more time with the iconic ITV soap character, as he has now moved in with the Dingle clan. However, as events unfold on the weeknight serial drama, they may discover they are about to become parents. This is news neither of them expected, but will they accept their responsibilities or will one of them flee?
The drama begins in the upcoming episodes of the long-running show, as the two teenagers want to spend as much time together as possible.
Unfortunately, this is proving to be more difficult than they anticipated, as they struggle to find a quiet spot in the village.
Belle sets up a meeting for the two of them at the B&B, where a room has been reserved for them, but this, like all of their other plans, falls through.
It soon dawns on the young woman that having fun with her love interest may never happen again, and as a result, their relationship may change.
But, never one to give up, the iconic villager devises a scheme to have Ellis all to herself so they can enjoy each other’s company.
However, because they are both eager to get things done as soon as possible, they may make a few mistakes as they embrace their chemistry.
This could mean they forget to use protection, and Belle could find out she’s pregnant with Ellis’ baby in a matter of weeks.
The Dingle woman, having matured quickly, may be looking forward to following in her mother Lisa Dingle’s (Jane Cox) footsteps.
She has some experience, as she took on a maternal role for Jamie Tate’s daughter, Millie Tate, when they were dating (Alexander Lincoln) (Willow Bell).
Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Ellis, who may become terrified at the prospect of becoming a father at such a young age.
For many years, Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) was an absent figure in his son’s life, and Ellis has never had a father figure.
Trying to do this for his own child could be too much for him to handle, and it may be something he isn’t ready for.
The youngster may try his hardest to be a helpful partner, but his fears may be growing by the second.
Another factor that may prevent him from having a child with Belle is his father’s ongoing feud with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
According to reports, Aaron, the actor who portrays Ellis, will be leaving the show later this year in an explosive storyline.
As a result, if Ellis isn’t ready to be a father, he may flee the village and begin a new life away from the Dales.
No one, including Al, would be able to contact him because he could decide to cut everyone out of his life.
This would leave Belle literally holding the baby, as she would not want to end the pregnancy just because Ellis has runoff.
She may believe in her head that he will return once the baby is born, and they will be a proper little family in the village.
But, with it being clear to viewers that Ellis will not be returning, are her dreams of the ideal life a distant memory?
After thinking she had found love with Jamie just two years ago, the iconic character could be let down by another man.
Eden, the actress who plays Belle, discussed what she thought made her character and Kim Tate’s (Claire King) son a good match at the time.
Eden explained: “I think Belle truly loved Jamie. But she also knew that his situation was messy and because he was trying to do the right thing for Millie, he is messing with Belle’s head.
“If she didn’t have true feelings I don’t think she would have tried to make it work.
“I don’t think she’s excited by the fact it was an affair, her dad’s affair massively hurt Belle and the family.”
“I think she knew it was wrong. On the other hand, she did like when they stole a few hours here and there, that part she found exciting I think,” she told Metro.co.uk.
As a result, it’s possible that another twist in the story is that she doesn’t tell her family who her child’s father is.
Knowing that they are against the Chapmans, she could keep the secret to herself while caring for Ellis’ baby.
However, secrets don’t last long on the soap opera set, and it was only a matter of time before they discovered the child’s true parentage.
