Emmerdale icon Rishi Sharma dies as he’s killed by Jai in horrifying twist?

In upcoming scenes on the ITV soap, Rishi Sharma may face serious danger from his son, Jai Sharma, as it appears the ruthless businessman will go to any length to get what he wants.

Rishi (Bhasker Patel) had a rocky start to the year on Emmerdale, as he was heartbroken when he finally let his estranged wife, Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker), start a romance with Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin). Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) relapsed into an eating disorder after being burned in the maze fire last year, and the father of three has been trying to keep an eye on her. However, as his son Jai (Chris Bisson) becomes the focus of a new ITV soap storyline, the beloved villager will collapse, leaving viewers to wonder if he will survive. Jai could be the one who ensures he does not survive his ordeal alive.

Kim Tate (Claire King) tells Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and her partner Jai that they must vacate the home they rent from her in next week’s episodes of the weeknight serial drama.

Rishi’s son appears to be plotting a way to get his family out of the mess by telling his landlord to sell Brook Cottage instead.

Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) lives here, and when Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) realizes what is about to happen to her mother, she becomes furious.

Laurel and Jai decide to try to buy Mulberry Cottage from her in order to ensure they keep their hands on it.

However, because he is already short on cash, the businessman suggests that his father and sister sell their home so that he can bank some of the proceeds.

Priya and Rishi are both perplexed and angry with Jai for what he is suggesting, and Bernice soon joins in, yelling at the businessman.

Rishi ends up collapsing to the floor as his health deteriorates due to the high level of tension in the air and his overwhelming sense of the situation.

Laurel wants to know why the Sharma siblings were arguing in the first place as the father of three is rushed to the hospital.

Priya explains that Jai wants them to sell Holdgate, so Laurel looks into getting a mortgage to keep the family from turning on each other.

Her partner, on the other hand, already knows she won’t get one because he forged an application for a loan in her name to bail himself out of a financial mess.

Laurel becomes panicked when she discovers she has a low credit score as a result of a recent loan she didn’t apply for.

Jai concocts a story to try to throw her off guard, but when she contacts the cops, he reveals the truth.

Laurel knows their relationship is doomed without even thinking about it, and she is horrified by what her other half has done to her.

She tells him that he needs to fix his life and get his act together before she can even consider forgiving him, even though she still loves him.

Rishi’s son recognizes that his life is spiraling out of control, and before long, he could be hatching a scheme to get Laurel back in his good graces and repay all of the money he owes, but at a price.

With his father’s health in question, Jai could seize the opportunity and use it to his advantage, despite recent backlash.

With a need for cash and knowledge that Rishi has some inheritance money set aside for his three children, the businessman may be able to find a way to obtain the funds.

However, this would necessitate the death of the beloved villager, as he would need his father’s death to receive the payout.

This would be a horrific turn of events because Jai has never killed anyone before, but if he were to kill his father, he would be at the point of no return.

Will Rishi, who has been a huge source of support and guidance to his son, really leave Jai to his own devices?

Chris, the actor who plays Jai, spoke with Express.co.uk and other media outlets about what Rishi’s collapse means for his most recent storyline.

“Obviously, his father is on the floor [after having a heart attack] and he is obviously devastated,” the soap star explained.

“Priya makes it clear to him that this is most likely a result of his actions, and he is completely guilt-ridden and mortified that his actions have had such a serious repercussion.”

“Because up until this point, it’s all been about money and business until someone’s life is actually affected.”

“It suddenly brings it all home to him,” he continued but is this enough to sway him from a murderous and dangerous plan to get money?

Jai has proven in the past that he can be dangerous when he wants to be, most notably when he kidnapped Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and imprisoned her in a shipping container a few years ago.

He’s also shown a lot of rage and ruthlessness in the past, so turning against someone isn’t completely out of character.

But assassinating his own father might be a line he can’t cross again, leading to a lot of speculation in the village about who could have done it.

Some may suspect Jai because of his recent financial difficulties, while others believe it was the work of Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu).

Will Jai let Meena get away with it while he tries to save his own skin?
