Emmerdale pregnancy as Vanessa Woodfield discovers she’s expecting Paddy Kirk’s baby?

Following the events of Friday night’s episode of EMMERDALE, Vanessa Woodfield could find out she’s pregnant with Paddy Kirk’s kid, since the couple appear to have chemistry.

Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick) returned to Emmerdale earlier this week after a break of more than 18 months away from the village’s turmoil. The veterinary nurse was distraught when she found her new love Fiona Murphy (Yemisi Oyinloye) had slept with her sister Tracy Metcalfe’s (Amy Walsh) partner Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) when they were on a break.

Her old coworker Paddy (Dominic Brunt), who was the villager who persuaded her to stay in the Dales permanently, was the only person who provided her some assistance. So, could the couple have an affair on the ITV serial in the coming weeks, resulting to a pregnancy?

Vanessa ran into Paddy while walking about the village, and he was overjoyed to see her again in the Dales after such a long time.

Apologising for not contacting him sooner, the returnee said: “Things have been a bit full-on,’ referring to the discovery of the affair.

The vet replied: “Yes, I heard. Nate stayed at ours last night, not that we are taking sides. I cannot imagine what Tracy must be feeling.

“Both of you for that matter,” he continued, with the mother of one stating she was just trying to deal with it in the best way she could.

“It’s a shame, really, because I was selfishly looking forward to having you back [at the surgery], even for a couple of days,” Paddy remarked.

This was the first clue that the two might have chemistry, but Paddy didn’t stop there, saying, “If I squinted, it would feel like the old times.”

“Who doesn’t want them back?” he added, with Vanessa replying she felt it was “such a long time ago” and her former colleague agreeing.

Paddy remarked: “It’s probably the last thing you want but if you’re interested in coming to a small, elite little gathering at The Mill, later on, you would be more than welcome.”

“I was meant to be going home today but there is no way I can leave Tracy when she’s like this,” Vanessa replied and Paddy was a bit disheartened.

He said he understood but wanted her to know the offer was there if she changed her mind later on in the day.

“To be honest, I wish I’d never come back in the first place,” she chimed, with Paddy curious why she thought that.

“If I hadn’t turned up with Fiona, then Tracy would still have a life right now,” the mother-of-one explained to her friend.

Paddy replied: “Look, the truth is out there. As much as you would like to, you cannot change that which means Tracy is going to need you now more than ever.

“Maybe that is a sign you should stay,” he continued, with Vanessa substantially happier than when they began the conversion.

“How do you manage to find the bright side in everything?” she asked, with Paddy admitting he was “just selfish”, adding: “For a start, I really like having you around.”

Vanessa offered him a warm smile before remarking that despite the numerous obstacles, he made the concept of returning to the hamlet “seem so simple.”

“All I’m saying is,” he added, “you have more options than you think.” “What’s the sense in running when the damage is already done?” he asked.

The mother stood there watching her friend walk away, and while it appeared to be a cordial exchange, there could be more to it than meets the eye.

Although Paddy appears to be content with his marriage to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter), the destruction of The Woolpack may cause them to have marital issues.

His desire to see Vanessa return to the village was palpable throughout the chat, and this could be a foreshadowing of what is to come.

Vanessa told her sister Tracy at the end of the episode that she was staying in the village and thanked Paddy for assisting her in her decision.

Before the New Year’s Eve episode aired, it was known that the returnee would be staying in the Dales on a more permanent basis.

However, the reasons for her staying were not revealed until transmission, and it appears Paddy will be in her eyesight from now on.

Despite having previous relationships, the beloved character could make a beeline for the vet since she knows he has a good heart.

Their affair, however, may come at a price, as they may fail to use protection and therefore end up with a baby on the way.

Even if no one knew who the father was, it was evident that Vanessa and Paddy would feel uncomfortable discussing it.

It’s up to those around them to pick up on the odd vibes, but secrets don’t stay hidden for long in the soap world.

Paddy may find it more difficult to stay away once the kid is born because he knows the infant is his and he wants to bond with it.
At this point, the veterinarian could tell his wife everything, and she would be devastated to learn that he had another lady pregnant.

What does this mean for Paddy and Chas’ future, and can the former bar landlady accept another child into her life?
