Emmerdale Rosie Bentham’s tragic loss, Line Of Duty link and life away from soap

Since 2016, Rosie Bentham has played Gabby in the fictional community of Emmerdale.

She has appeared in a number of tragic storylines throughout that period, including being apprehended by police in connection with Emma Barton’s murder and losing her father Ashley to dementia.

Gabby, 20, gave birth to her kid last year after a one-night encounter with Jamie Tate.
While Gabby’s love life is difficult, Rosie appears to be in good shape, according to the Daily Star.

While viewers have witnessed Gabby’s relationship with Jamie, actress Rosie has remained tight-lipped about her personal life. It is said that she is in a relationship but maintains her boyfriend’s identity a secret.

Rosie is the youngest of four children, with a sister and two brothers, and has stated that her mother Marianne is her inspiration outside of Emmerdale.

She also discusses her father John’s death in 2019, one week before her 18th birthday, from a pulmonary embolism (blood clot).
“I really couldn’t believe it because he hadn’t been ill beforehand,” Rosie previously told The Mirror.

“I became enraged because I couldn’t comprehend why and how it had occurred. ‘No, no, no,’ I recall saying.”

She thinks that by sharing her personal sorrow experiences, she would be able to help others who are going through similar situations.

“I don’t mind if people ask me about memories of my father since I have so many good ones,” Rosie concluded.

Rosie has spoken of her parents’ delight when she was awarded the role of Gabby in Emmerdale when she was 14 years old.

She not only starred as Gabby while studying for her GCSEs and A-Levels, but she also attended Nottingham’s Television Workshop Drama Group, where alumni include Vicki McClure of Line of Duty and Lucy Pargeter of Emmerdale.
