EMMERDALE’S Liam Cavanagh has been struggling to come to terms with the loss of his daughter Leanna Cavanagh, but could a coworker offer an unlikely shoulder to cry on?
In Emmerdale, Liam Cavanagh (Johnny McPherson) is naturally dreading his first Christmas without daughter Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger).
Will he find solace in colleague Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) instead of his wife Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi) who has been attempting to help him move forward?
Liam made it clear to Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) in Wednesday’s episode of the ITV soap that he wasn’t in the holiday spirit.

Turning her attention to Leyla, Meena asked: “Please tell him to come to surgery drinks later on.”
“I am actually here,” the doctor quipped and Meena hit back: “Yes but you’re not listening.
“If you don’t come it’s just me, Wendy and my duller much older sister.”
When Meena left, Leyla encouraged Liam to relax and enjoy himself.

“Why does everyone have to be so darn cheerful?” Liam questioned.
“We always knew this time of year was going to be hard and I know we haven’t decided yet but I do think we should put up the decorations,” she replied.

“Little twinkly lights, aren’t we happy having a jolly twinkly time?” Liam quipped.
“I’m sorry you’re right I just don’t know how to be [happy],” he added.
“I think you should go to the Christmas party,” Leyla urged.
Liam was later seen having a good time at The Woolpack with Wendy and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).
“Another round?” Liam asked Wendy who replied: “Oh no I’m a bit tipsy already. I’m so glad to see you out.”

Following the devastating death of his daughter, the doctor has struggled to move on.
Leyla has tried to assist him several times, but the bereaved father frequently pulls his wife away.
Will he find solace in the arms of a coworker who has also lost a child?
Wendy and Liam leave The Woolpack together and return home in this episode.
“I should not have had one for the road and those cocktails you got us,” Wendy commented.
Liam replied: “Completely lethal I can’t feel my legs.”
It’s been a long time since Liam has had a nice time and a good night.
Will he be able to share his feelings with Wendy, who recently lost her son Lee Posner (Kris Mochrie)?
The colleagues parted ways, but Meena didn’t have to look far before she saw a drunken Liam.
He has no idea Meena is to blame for his daughter’s death, and the doctor is in grave danger.
However, with Leyla waiting for Liam at home, Meena may be obliged to release the doctor in order to avoid suspicion.
