Emmerdale sets up Meena’s double murder plan as she outsmarts Vinny

In the newest Emmerdale twist, Vinny Dingle has joined Manpreet Sharma as one of Meena Jutla’s prisoners.

Following a major cliffhanger earlier this week in which Meena carried Manpreet to a car boot in a corpse bag, viewers have learnt that Meena is keeping her sister alive in the village’s barn.

Vinny made the possibly fatal error of getting in the way of Meena in Friday’s (January 7) episode when he became suspicious of her threatening Noah Dingle.

Vinny jumped in the Dingle van and followed her out of the village as he noticed her. Vinny was in over his head when Meena spotted him and enticed him to the barn where she was keeping Manpreet.

Inside the barn, Vinny discovered a barely awake Manpreet. As Vinny moved to assist her, Meena struck him with the pitchfork from behind, knocking him out cold.

“Leave him,” Manpreet was barely able to beg, with a furious Meena snapping back: “Shut up or I might just decide three’s a crowd!”

Meena was one step ahead of those suspecting her of the murders in Friday night’s episode, which finished in a frightening manner once again. Vinny is now being held captive as a possible murder victim!

Paige Sandhu gave some insight into Meena’s mind earlier this week, when she was forced to adapt with her original intentions to kill Manpreet over the course of seven days.

“I think we have got a bit of exhilaration. As we go on, I wouldn’t say that she’s out of her depth, but I would say that she is definitely feeling the stress,” she explained.

“She’s having to juggle so many things while also having to keep her mask in the village, like we’ve seen Rishi is very suspicious of her, Liam is starting to get suspicious, there’s Billy and Dawn snooping around and with Vinny, that adds all of the Dingles into the mix.

“All of that is adding to the stress that she is feeling. But at the same time, she thrives off being spontaneous. It’s thrilling to her to be able to kill another person, which is horrible. There is both going on.”
