Next week on Emmerdale, Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) makes a daring move when she confesses to the murder of Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale), recounting her victim’s dying moments in detail.
The killer has yet to accept responsibility for the deaths of several of the titular village’s finest, as viewers are aware.
Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin), on the other hand, is hell-bent on finding out if she can be saved, so he’s been paying her frequent visits in prison.
Knowing how much suffering she’s caused, he returns to her in later moments, pleading with her to confess her misdeeds.
eena pretends to be seeking forgiveness, but Charles insists that she will only be forgiven if she ‘accepts responsibility’ for her actions.
However, if she fails to do so, Charles will leave.
Meena accuses him of being a “hypocrite,” stating that he lied to her, before citing a Bible verse that states that murderers are not permitted to join the Kingdom of Heaven.
However, Charles responds by telling the killer that she should begin reading the Luke version, which has a verse that contradicts the King James version.
After considerable deliberation, Meena finally chooses to reveal the truth, a wicked smile appearing on her face.
‘Like she battled for her life so valiantly?’ In answer to Charles’s desire to know her deepest secrets, she says. Or how her daughter was her final thought in this world. Intriguing, to say the least. I was nearly pity for her.
‘Perhaps things might have turned out differently if she had just shut talking!’ Andrea might not have needed to be KILLED.’
Charles is taken aback by Meena’s admission and looks at her in astonishment.
Will he inform the authorities and the people of her confession?
