Emmerdale star Amy Walsh announces birth of first baby with EastEnders actor

Toby-Alexander Smith and Amy Walsh welcomed their first child together.

Amy Walsh of Emmerdale and Toby-Alexander Smith of EastEnders have welcomed their first child together.

The real-life soap couple revealed the news to OK!, revealing that they welcomed their first child over the holidays.

As they welcomed their child into the world, Amy, 34, and Toby, 31, said it had been a “crazy week.”

They told OK! : “It’s been a busy week, to say the least! I hope you everyone had a wonderful time. MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE THREE OF US.”

After being diagnosed with polycystic ovaries, a disorder that affects a woman’s eggs, Amy, who portrays Tracy Metcalfe on the ITV serial, said she didn’t think she’d be able to have children.

PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) is a condition that alters the way a woman’s ovaries function.

The major symptoms, according to the NHS, are irregular periods and excess androgen, which implies the body has high levels of “male” hormones.

The ovaries grow as well, with multiple fluid-filled sacs (follicles) around the eggs.

Because these sacs are frequently unable to release an egg, ovulation does not occur.

It’s impossible to say how many women have PCOS, although it’s considered to affect roughly one in every ten women in the United Kingdom.

The actress earlier expressed her gratitude to her midwife for telling her she had a “perfect pregnancy.”
Amy previously stated that she felt “made” to give birth in November.

She said: “I feel weirdly excited about it.

“I’m sure everyone who’s been through it reading this will laugh but it’s something I’ve always wanted to experience.”

She continued, ” “It’s something I’ve always felt compelled to do. I’m well aware of how frightening it could be, so I know it won’t be easy, but what I’m most looking forward to is sharing the experience with Toby.”

Amy, who portrays Tracy Metcalfe on the show, and Toby, who plays Gray Atkins, announced they were expecting their first child together in September.
