Emmerdale tragedy as Mackenzie Boyd’s killer secret exposed?

After some initial trouble following his arrival, EMMERDALE bad boy Mackenzie Boyd has become a beloved character in the village, but viewers of the ITV soap could soon learn he has been withholding some information about his past.

Mackenzie (played by Lawrence Robb) has recently had a rocky relationship with Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), as her ex-fiancée Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) has returned to Emmerdale after more than a year away. The ITV soap’s bad boy has had to console Ryan Stocks (James Moore) after his adopted mother died off-screen as the two women have reconnected. With the aftermath of the death set to play out in next week’s episodes of the show, Mackenzie may be reminded of his own mother’s death, which he experienced as a child.

When Mackenzie and his sister Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) first arrived in the village, they were at odds over their past.

They hadn’t seen each other in years, and when they finally did, the bad boy blamed his younger brother for their mother’s illness and subsequent death.

The brother and sister duo have since made amends and have been getting along quite well recently, but Irene Stocks’ (Eithne Browne) death in upcoming scenes on the weeknight serial drama hits him hard despite not knowing her.

Ryan has to tell his mother Charity on the day of her funeral that laying his mother to rest has brought up some unpleasant emotions for Mackenzie.

Charity chastises herself for not noticing sooner, and for not realizing that this could be difficult for him given his mother’s death only a few years ago.

However, there may be more to this story than meets the eye, as Mackenzie may be struggling with his mother’s death secret.

Despite the fact that he blamed Moria for their mother’s death, he could be the one who killed her in a tragic twist.

The backstory of the bad boy’s past has been revealed to viewers, revealing that he witnessed his father abusing his mother.

With his sister out of the picture, he had no choice but to step in and try to protect their mother from serious harm.

The siblings’ father died eventually, and Mackenzie stayed by his mother’s side for the rest of her days because he didn’t want her to be alone.

After learning that Moira was terminally ill, the mother of two asked her son to go to the Dales to find her so she could see her daughter one last time before she died.

When the siblings met face to face, Mackenzie was so enraged by his sister’s behavior that he claimed their mother had already died.

Moira went on to explain that she left home when she was 18 because their mother was having an affair with her husband’s best friend.

This infuriated her brother, who later returned home to be by his mother’s side when she died…or so viewers were led to believe.

In fact, despite his father’s abuse, the bad boy of the Dales may have struggled to comprehend this information when he learned she had cheated.

Mackenzie could have killed his mother in a fit of rage knowing she was nearing the end of her life and wouldn’t recover.

Because he didn’t want to return to the village where he killed his mother, he may have returned to the village a short time later and settled in the Dales permanently.

The troublemaker may have been keeping the secret for a couple of years, putting it to the back of his mind because he didn’t want to be judged.

Seeing Ryan’s anguish over his mother’s death, on the other hand, may have forced Mackenzie to confront his darkest past.

Will he finally tell Moira and Charity the whole truth about what he did, and how will they react when they find out he’s a serial killer?

Lawrence, who plays Mackenzie, has admitted that his character was “evil” when he first arrived, possibly implying that he did something bad outside of the village.

Lawrence explained: “I always knew that Mack was going to be someone that people would either hate to love or love to hate.

“My initial impression of him was that he’d be quite evil, but Mack has evolved into someone who’s always up to no good.”

“However, his heart is in the right place – particularly when it comes to family, and now, I suppose, Charity.”

“I suppose we’re alike in that he’s a bit of a knucklehead, and I’m wondering if the bosses have caught me making fun of him in between scenes.”

“And that’s why Mack has chilled out a bit. Because he was definitely really evil when he arrived,” the actor told Inside Soap.

With such evil within him, he could easily kill someone, especially if they caught him at the wrong time, as his mother would have done after learning of her affair.

His evil side could resurface if he feels compelled to protect his secret after being so reclusive for the past few months.

But the question is, if he still had his freedom, would he kill someone again? Would he ever be apprehended for his crimes?
