Emmerdale villain Meena Jutla’s exit confirmed as star speaks out on leaving ITV soap

It has been revealed that EMMERDALE villain Meena Jutla will be departing the ITV soap, and the actress who plays the killer has spoken out about how she feels about leaving her character behind.

Meena (Paige Sandhu) has been at the center of several of Emmerdale’s most important stories in the last 18 months, and she is currently responsible for the deaths of three village members. She has been holding her sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) prisoner in recent episodes of the ITV soap, and she will get her hands on Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) by the end of next week. The scary serial killer, however, will not be around for much longer, as Paige, the actress who plays her, has stated that she will “miss everything” about her alter-ego.

Residents in the community are beginning to see how insane Meena is after keeping her violent ways hidden for several months.

Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) is on the verge of finding her murderous secret, as he begins to wonder if she is lying about Manpreet’s departure from the Dales.

When Liam Cavanagh (Johnny McPherson), the father of one of the villain’s victims, discovers his neighbor was never pregnant with Billy Fletcher’s (Jay Kontzle) kid, he suspects his neighbor is hiding something.

It is unknown when the serial murderer will be apprehended or when she will leave the show, although Paige has stated that her character’s days are numbered.

The soap star said: “I will miss everything because I love her. I think she’s hilarious, she’s got so much charisma, she’s so strange, she is just odd and everything about her.”

“She’s so weird and it’s so much fun to play such a weird character,” the actress continued to explain in an interview with Inside Soap Magazine.

Paige added: “Going to those dark places is really fulfilling but then there’s that slightly comedic edge which is always fun.

“I love her flamboyancy. I think everything about her I’ll miss,” she remarked, confirming her villainous alter-ego will be leaving in the near future.

When she told the publication that kidnapping Manpreet is the “beginning of the end” for Meena, she threw fuel to the flames.

The killer was expected to be revealed before Christmas, but soap producers are keeping viewers guessing about the outcome of her narrative.

However, the assassin has plenty of time before she departs to strike again and murder another villager as her reign of terror continues.

Paige indicated on Loose Women last month that things in the Dales are about to get “a lot worse” before they get better for those who live there.

The actress explained: “So because Meena’s caused such a crazy amount of stuff that’s happened in Emmerdale, she’s starting to get this feeling of invincibility.

“And that’s potentially gonna be her downfall – because her behaviour is getting more and more outlandish and people are starting to cotton on.

“I can’t tell you whether there will be any more murders or not, but she definitely gets worse – like really worse.”

Paige discussed how she would like to leave the show in the future with Express.co.uk and other outlets last year.

The actress expressed her feelings on her character’s death, saying: “Meena and Manpreet are in the street in my dream, and it’s twilight.

“Meena is set to kill someone, and Manpreet feels compelled to save this person by killing Meena, so she does,” the soap star explained.

“Meena then passes away in Manpreet’s arms, and they share a beautiful sisterly moment in which Meena almost expresses her love for her [sister].

“Like [Meena] is almost normal, she’s able to feel something and then she dies. That is what I want,” she confessed.

Rebecca, who plays Manpreet, spoke with ITV’s Lorraine last month about what it’s like to work with her co-star Paige.

“She’s just bad,” the actress remarked, before adding, “but she’s committed to the character.” It’s been a blast playing with her as well as against her.

“We’ve looked at that sisterly bond; it’s a love/hate relationship, and I hope it comes through on screen.”

“It’s been a lot of fun.” Her preparation and execution are meticulous. We bounce ideas off of one another. I believe I’m beginning to take on some of Meena’s bizarre characteristics!

Fans have been sharing their thoughts on the villain on Twitter, with John writing: “At this pace, she’ll be the world’s most notorious serial killer #meena #emmerdale. I believe #Emmerdale has already received one of the #NTA 2022 prizes.”

Alan made the following comment: “At this point, Meena is simply callous. Getting Manpreet to write a list of reasons why life isn’t worth living and gloating about her death like it’s no big deal. #Emmerdale is a complete sociopath.”

Arise commented: “Actually really p****d off with #Emmerdale now. Meena was good for a while, but it’s just getting ridiculous now. I really liked Manpreet.”

Michelle said, ” “I don’t want Meena to leave the house. Paige Sandhu, who plays the nasty Meena Jutla, is a wonderful villain who deserves to be recognized. Meena will always be my favorite villian from @emmerdale #Emmerdale.”

“Meena is little, but she appears to be superhuman? With how easy she moves bodies, she certainly spends all of her time not at work at the gym! #Emmerdale, #Emmerdale, #Emmerdale, # “Caitlin threw in her two cents.
