Emmerdale’s Ryan Stocks cuts ties with Charity Dingle after tragic death?

EMMERDALE’S As he struggles to cope with his biological mother’s death, Ryan Stocks may soon cut ties with her.

On Monday’s episode of Emmerdale, Ryan Stocks (James Moore) was devastated to learn that his adoptive mother Irene Stocks (Eithne Browne) had died tragically. He tried to call his biological mother Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in a desperate attempt to find someone to talk to, but she declined. Will the bereft character decide to cut ties with Charity because she was not there for him in his hour of need?

In Monday’s emotional episode of the ITV soap, Ryan learned that his adoptive mother Irene had died in hospital after an illness.

Charity Woodfield, the distraught character’s mother, declined his call because she was in the middle of a conversation with Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick).

Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) walked into the room as Ryan was trying to process the bad news, and Ryan began to confide in him.

Ryan started welling up and said: “My mum, she’s died.”

Mackenzie asked Ryan: “Did your brother say what happened? You don’t have to tell me but it might help.”

Ryan explained that his adoptive mother wasn’t feeling well and had recently experienced heart problems.

While tears streamed down his face, he explained that he had been unaware that she was ill and that he felt guilty for not having spoken to her in a long time.

Mackenzie said: “I was meant to call mine every Sunday but she’d shower me with questions and remember every single detail week in and week out so I ended up being like a weekly inquisition on top of the hangover I was nursing from the night before.”

He added: “If she wanted to let you know she would have reached out.”

However, Ryan explained: “She tried to call yesterday and I didn’t pick up. She thought I didn’t care.”

Mackenzie tried to console Ryan by telling him how much Irene loved him.

“She was happy you were living your own life and she was really proud of you,” he explained to Ryan.

It’ll only be a matter of time before Charity learns of Irene’s death, and she’ll undoubtedly feel bad about not answering Ryan’s phone calls.

Will a bereft Ryan, however, completely cut ties with Charity after being rejected by her?

When he asked if Ryan had heard from his birthmother Charity, he sobbed and said she had been “too preoccupied with a play date.”

Because Charity was still not answering her phone, Mackenzie offered to drive Ryan to his brother’s house so they could be there for each other.

Later, the two were about to get into Mackenzie’s car when they came across Charity, who was blissfully unaware.

Charity noticed Mackenzie and Ryan were upset, but she didn’t inquire as to why and went about her day.

Charity’s dismissive attitude broke Ryan’s heart, and he told Mackenzie that Irene was his “real mother.”
